Food Items Needed: | 1 cup corn syrup, molasses or honey 3/4 cup milk powder 1 cup oatmeal 1/2 cup peanut butter 1/2 cup chocolate chips 1/2 cup wheat germ 1/2 cup crushed peanuts 1/2 cup raisins |

At Home Prep: | Mix all the ingredients thoroughly. Roll into balls and wrap each in a small piece of waxed paper, twisting the ends. CHILL. | ||
Comments: | This is one recipe for gorp you can think of variations for yourself. It is a high energy, easy to eat food that can give you a quick lift! | ||

Preparation Method: | cold - make at home in oven | ||

Food Items Needed: | 5 cups oatmeal (NOT instant) 1 cup sesame seeds 1 cup sunflower seeds (without shells) 1 cup wheat germ 1 cup honey 1 cup peanut oil 1 cup powdered milk 1 cup slivered almonds (or other nuts) 1 cup flour 1/2 cup brown sugar |

At Home Prep: | Mix ingredients. Bake on baking sheet at 275 degrees for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally. Cool. Divide into 8 individual Baggies. | ||

In Camp Prep / Cooking Instructions: | Drain fruit cocktail very well. Put pudding mix, milk and fruit cocktail in plastic container and shake until well mixed. Allow to thicken and enjoy. | ||
Serving Suggestions: | You can use cooked vanilla pudding mix (prepare as per package directions and cool) or canned vanilla pudding. Stir well drained fruit cocktail into the pudding. | ||
Comments: | We have been making this since my youngest was in Daisies. It has even made an appearance at our service unit's annual Mother Daughter Banquet so its not just for camping anymore! | ||

Hobo Stick Popcorn | |||

In Camp Prep / Cooking Instructions: | In center of 18" x 18" square of heavy or doubled foil, place one teaspoon of oil and one tb spoon of popcorn. Bring foil corners together to make a pouch. Seal the edges by folding, but allow room for the popcorn to pop. Tie each pouch to a long stick with a string Hold the pouch over the hot coals. Shake constantly until all the corn has popped |

At Home Prep: | Can be made ahead or girls can make them the night before they are to be served. | ||
In Camp Prep/ Cooking Instructions: |
Take two cookies. After ice-cream has softened slightly, spread ice-cream on flat side of cookie Put another cookie on top (like an Oreo or ice cream sandwich) Place assembled sandwiches on cookie sheet and place in freezer overnight or at least 4 hours. Take out and enjoy. |

In Camp Prep / Cooking Instructions: | Have a variety of large bowls filled with various trail mix items(one item per bowl) and a one cup measure or scoop at each bowl Give each girl a Ziploc bag and form two lines the girls proceed down the line scooping up cups of their favorite snack ingredients and at the end they close their bag and shake it up to mix it. Can also be taken on a hike!! |

In Camp Prep / Cooking Instructions: | Prepare box oven and coals, using 8 coals. Melt margarine in pan. Stir in seasoned salt and Worcestershire sauce. Add remaining ingredients and stir until all are evenly coated. Bake 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes. Cool. Store in airtight container. (More margarine may be used to prevent sticking and burning.) |

Pizzelles | |||
Preparation Method: | Fire and Pizzelle Iron | ||

Non-Food Items Needed: | charcoal in chimney fire starter fork pizzelle iron newspapers |

Food Items Needed: | 1/2 pound butter 1 teaspoon vanilla 12 tablespoons sugar 1 tablespoon anise seeds 6 eggs 1 cup flour enough milk |

At Home Prep: | Melt butter. Beat in sugar, then eggs, then vanilla. Alternate mixing in flour and milk until all the flour is added and the batter is thick enough to make the pizzelles you like. Try one cup of milk if you aren't sure. Stir in the anise seeds. | ||
In Camp Prep / Cooking Instructions: | Pour batter onto preheated iron until half the surface is covered. Close the iron and cook on charcoal chimney until the edges that show begin to turn color. Cook the other side about half a minute. Pull cookie from iron with fork and place on newspaper to cool a bit. | ||
