The Georgia Foothills Chapter
of Trout Unlimited
What is Trout Unlimited?
Trout Unlimited's mission is to
conserve, protect, and restore North America's trout and salmon
fisheries and their watersheds.
Trout Unlimited is more than just a fishing club. Our members are
conservation-minded anglers who care not just about hooking the biggest
trout their fishing companions have ever seen, but about protecting and
restoring the streams and rivers trout and salmon inhabit.
What is the Georgia Foothills Chapter?
The Georgia Foothills Chapter is a local chapter serving primarily
Habersham, White, Stephens, Banks and Hall counties of Georgia.
You mean there are actually trout in Georgia?
Hard to believe, isn't it? But, yes, in the Deep South, we also have
trout. In fact, Georgia has over 2000 miles of offically-designated
trout streams. Much of the habitat is marginal and less able to sustain
damage than many of the fine trout streams of the North and West.
That's just one of the reasons TU is so important in Georgia.
