Welcome to

Eric's Archery Page

The bowyer's home on the web

Appologies for the brevity of this page, as it is still in the making. The focus of this site is primitive/traditional bow making and archery. Pictures and diagrams will be available here as soon as I get permission from the people who need to give it. If you have stories, advice, questions, or pictures you want to share, contact me and we will get them up here.

Here are some links to other pages of interest to bowyers and traditional archers:

Mary Rose Homeport This is the site of the Mary Rose Museum.  Good info and a neat site. Not much on bows, but an important site for longbow history.

Primitive Archery Home Page Finally, another true primitive bowyers page. Good tips, advice, and pictures of some very nice looking bows.

Medieval Archery Research Project So far the only information here is about crossbows, but the information is good and interesting from a bowyers perspective.

Holden's Traditional Archery Another bowyers home page. In fact, it's pretty much what I had in mind for this page before it had to get put on hold for six months.

Sagittarius Archery Links Sort of the clearing house for archery links on the web. Links are rated by quality and usefulness.

A little bit about me...

I am relatively new to bowmaking, although I have a pretty extensive background in woodworking.  I have now made over half a dozen bows, and am still on a pretty steep learning curve.  I have read and reread "The Traditional Bowyer's Bible" series. I consider these books the absolute best printed information available about making bows and recommend them strongly to anyone who hasn't read through them. I have been a member of St. Sebastian's Renaissance Archery Guild in Central California.
