Welcome to What's Happening in King's River District


SOUTHERN SEQUOIA COUNCIL CAMPOREE

A joint camporee involving the three Southern districts (Kings River, Live Oak, Sierra) is in the planning stages for 17-19 May, 2002.  There will be more information as I get it.  Make plans to put  this great event on your Troop or Pack calendar, that will we held at BSA Camp Whittset, near Johnsondale in the Sequoia National Forest.  There will be special events for the Venture units, as well as events for the younger Scouts and I hear the patch is really cool!

Kings River District Committee Meeting

The Kings River District Committee will hold it's December  meeting on the 12.  Any interested Scouter is invited. The meeting will be at the LDS Church on Grangeville and Fargo Avenues. It starts at 7:00 p.m. All interested Scouters are invited to attend.  Come on out and see what goes on behind the scenes.  Bring a friend!


New BSA Leader Essentials Training

Scheduled for 15 December at 8:00, Central Community Church.  Contact Nina Gibson, District Training Chair at 582-7964 for further information.

Council Recognition Dinner

 Annual Council Recognition Dinner is set for 23 March at Reedly College.  This is the event where the Silver Beaver Award is presented by the council.  Silver Beaver applications are due to the council office in Visalia no later than 31 December.  Applications can be picked up from our District Executive, Clay Ipsen or from the Visalia Service Center.  For more info contact Clay Ipsen at 732-3424 or email:cipsen@valleyweb.net

For Targua Arrowmen Only!

The Targua Chapter Chapter Chief, David Valles, Troop 410.   Our 1st Vice Chief is Eric Feldman, Troop 450; 2nd Vice Chief is Eric Tidd, Troop 413.   Come to the next meeting and lets get our Chapter ready for the coming year.

With enough youth in attendance at our next meeting, we will be electing officers for the next year.
