Cool LinksNo set of pages would be complete without the traditional "these are my favorite links!" This page is no exception. This may seem like a rather eclectic group of links, but they are the pages that I use and find the most interesting.

Outdoor linksCamp-A-Roo - Camp-A-Roo has a multitutde of information regarding camping all over the country.  Become a Good Camper today.

G.O.R.P. - Great Outdoor Recreation Pages -Contains tons of stuff on outdoor recreation.

Mountain Zone National Parks 1997 Directory -Very up to date information on National Parks.

Outdoor Link - Outdoor Link showcases non-profit organizations devoted to furthering outdoor recreation opportunities.

National Geographic - I have been a member since I was a Sophomore in High School (1974). I'm also a charter member of Traveler magazine.

National Park Service - If you want information about any of the NPS's sites, this should be your first stop.

The National Park Webring - This is a webring that I created to link up personal pages that are dedicated to a National Park, Monument, or Historical site.

Visit the Tent Page! - This is one of my favorite pages that I have created. Sure it's hokey, but I've seen a lot worse out there. Please stop by and enjoy our tent on the World Wide Web.

The Yosemite Association - I found this link while surfing through the Yosemite neighborhood in GeoCities. This page has extensive information on all aspects of Yosemite National Park. There are some great pictures and a daily view of the valley.

OrganizationsCCL - The Couple to Couple League - Natural family planning. No pills, no chemicals, no health risks, no artificial methods of birth control. The way God wants it.

Inland Area Science Project - This is the organization which got me started on homepage building. If you teach in Riverside, Inyo, Mono, or San Bernardino Counties of California, check out these pages. The summer institutes are great; you'll learn so much. The Inland Area Math Project is another page you might want to check out if you live in any of these counties.

The Kappa Sigma Fraternity - When I was at Cal State Fullerton pursuing my teaching credential, Kappa Sigma was colonizing on campus and I pledged the fraternity. I was initiated in 1984 as part of the Alpha class.

La Leche League - We are thoroughly committed to breastfeeding for as long as the child needs and/or wants it.
EducationCA
Cucamonga Middle School - I maintain these pages and I also teach there. It is a great school and I am proud to be associated with it. I am a technology mentor with the school district and maintain a couple of other pages as well. You may want to check out Operation Webfoot or Bear Gulch Elementary School.

PAThe Franklin Institute Science Museum - This organization has awarded 9 on-line fellowships for the upcoming school year based upon excellence in the classroom and the integration of web-based curriculum within individual teacher's classrooms. I was fortunate enough to be one of those 9 fellows and will be taking two trips to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in the upcoming year - one this past August and one next February.

CAHumboldt State University - I received a degree in Geography from Humboldt. The school is located in Arcata, California in the Redwood country. I lived in the dorms for three years and was a resident hall advisor my third year there. You could walk out of your dorm and five minutes later be totally enclosed within the redwood forest.

USAOperation Webfoot - This was my history/geography project. We had animals participate in Civil War Reenactments, go on road trips across part of the country, visit glaciers in Alaska, visit the USS Arizona Memorial in Hawaii, as well as the Golden Spike National Historic Site in Utah. One duck spent a week in Washington D.C. at the cherry blossom festival. Dewey met the mayor of Midland, Texas, Kermit the frog met Governor Philip Batt of Idaho and had his picture taken by Mt. Rushmore, while Huey met Governor David Beasley of South Carolina. The project is going to be part of my fellowship with The Franklin Institute this year.  I'm going to send one animal around to all of the other fellows this school year. To see some pictures of the animals in their travels around the United States visit the Operation Webfoot history page.

Fun Stuff

AltaVista translator - This is a really cool page. If you are learning a foreign language, stop by this site and type in your favorite URL, pick the language and click the translate button. Within seconds, you have that website translated into the foreign language of your choice.

Dave Barry - You've seen Dave's World, now read the real thing on-line. Dave Barry is probably one of the funniest writers around right now. My local papers don't carry his column, so I get my fix by reading it here. Great stuff.

Earthquake! - I live in earthquake country, so this site is good to see all of the recent earthquakes in California and Nevada.  Click on a square and you get detailed information about that particular quake.

Earth View - This is a 3-D view of the Earth with light and dark. You can see the lights of the cities at night. Pan around and see the other side.

The Electric Postcard - Send a postcard to a friend via email.

MapBlast - If you need a map and have an address, this is a great site.

NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory - Want to see some great space photos? This is the place to start.

NASA Shuttle Web - Can you tell I'm into space exploration? This site lets you know everything you wanted to know about the space shuttles and more. Movies, panoramic pictures, audio and more. It has it all. They even have a calendar of launch dates for the next twenty years or so.

Sports Illustrated On-line - Occasionally, I like to find out what's going on in the world of sports. It's a good source for up to the minute scores.

Through the Eyes of a Child - Our trip to Disneyland as seen through the eyes of a two year old.

A Virtual Present - Send someone a Rolls Royce or an elephant! You can link to some of their other sites and email cartoons or food to someone.

Where'$ George? - Have you ever wondered where your money goes after it leaves your pocket?  Become a Where'$ Georger today!

Where'$ George?

The White House - Find out more about how the executive branch of the government does business. Yes, it's a little bit of party politics but there is a lot of information here. You can email the President and Vice-President from this site. You can also read every President's inaugural address.

The World Sunclock - Find out where the sun is shining anywhere in the world. Really cool, for you geography buffs out there.

Yesterland - This is a great set of pages. I think what is happening to the Walt Disney Company is a crying shame and I believe Walt would be turning in his grave. Some of the material the studio has produced recently is good (Toy Story and Beauty and the Beast come to mind), but most do not seem to have the same Disney quality of old.
