The Vercours expedition of 95 was to be the clubs 1st foreign trip for
a number of years, and was certainly to prove eventful and fortuitous.
Excitement was to be there from the start, with certain members trying
their best to miss the ferry. This is a rather long story which began with
the desperate serch for a certain idiots (Mark) driving licence,
later to be found in the kitchen cuboard!!!!, and ending with a 95 mph race,
with trailer through rain and thunder.
On arrival the same afformentioned person, known affectionatelly as killer,
soon befreinded the locals, by tring to run them over on a zebra crossing.
Car + trailer = large breaking distance(not in Marks book). After a couple
of hours on the backroads the more sensible cars amoungst us, namely one,
took to the motorways. Those who dig not take this option ended up sleeping
, cars and all in a cave a couple of miles down the road from the campsite
the journey having taken them 21 hours rather than our 13.
