Jamborees come and go but they tell stories and leave a lot of memories to cherish.  May prove the importance of holding a Jamboree, here are some:

"The Jamboree is one of the many factors which make Scouting a unique movement for young people and which add so much to the experience of being a Scout, "  according to Dr. Jacques Moreillon.

World Scout Committee chair and prominent Filipino Scouter, Atty. Francisco S. Roman, once described a Jamboree "as an arena where the ideals of Scouting takes center stage in direct interaction among the Scouts of different ethnic, geographical and cultural origins.  It is during these Jamboree days that Scout brotherhood is galvanized by activities that foster better understanding and love of one's fellowmen."

Lord Baden-Powell, the founders of the world Scouting who also founded the 'Jamboree tradition,' told the Scout leaders: "...do not let our boys be content with the mere fact of being in the camp with those of other nations, but that we should encourage them to utilize every minute of the short time they are there to make acquaintance, and from acquaintance friendship with their brother Scouts, their future fellowmen in the world.  Each boy could then go forth from the Jamboree with a new responsibility upon him, namely, that of an apostle, to his particular district, of peace and goodwill."
