The Philippine Centennial Scout Jamboree kicks-off a nationwide whole year
celebration of the 100th year of the Declaration of Philippine Independence.
The Jamboree, therefore, is a unique opportunity for our boys to meet in
a historical setting. Twenty nine countries (comprising 34 national
Scout associations) most of which were identified with the long struggle
for Philippine Independence were invited to participate in this Jamboree
which will be held on January 5 to 11, 1998 at Clark Field, Angeles City.
Some 20,000 Scouts are projected to attend this Jamboree. A large
number of participants will be coming from the 102 Local Councils of the
BSP nationwide. Scouts and Scouters from the Asia-Pacific Region
are also expected to send delegations.
