Trip Report - Ed The hike consisted of walking 0.2 miles from the parking lot in Mt. Mitchell State Parl to the summit. The weather was beautiful with temps in the 70s and no wind or fog. There were small patches of snow on the path to the peak. The drive was the long part. Due to a section of the Blue Ridge Parkway being closed due to snow and ice in the tunnels it was necessary to go the long way around which was 75 miles each was from Asheville, NC where we were staying.
