Academic Belt Loops!!

Belt loops are awarded once to boys who learn and participate in an Academic area. This participation can take place individually or with the family, in the den or pack, or in the community. Academic belt loops are gold in color. These belt loops may be worn with the Cub Scout uniform on the Cub Scout belt. Webelos Scouts who have chosen to wear the khaki uniform may still wear the blue Cub Scout belt so as to display the belt loops they have earned.

Webelos: You should purchase the booklets for each academic pin so that you can keep track of your progress. The requirements for an Academic pin involve earning a total of sixty points in a ninety-day period. One point is earned for every thirty minutes of activity, with a maximum of five points earned per day. Some academics sbujects require completion of a project in order to meet the sixty-point goal. The individual Academics booklets list specific requirements for each pin and provide a record for the boy to keep of his progress.
