WARNING: It is highly recommended that you participate in an approved gymnastics program at a gymnastics center such as YMCAs, high schools, or private gymnastic centers. Although there is risk involved in gymnastics, with the proper guidance and supervision, this need not be a deterrent.

To earn the belt loop:

_____3. Become prepared for a gymnastics program through proper physical conditioning.

_____4. Determine your dominant side.

_____5. Learn and demonstrate the following:

_____6. At an approved facility learn and practice the following skills on the pommel horse.

_____stride mount _____single-leg travel _____straddle swings

_____stride swings _____rear-cut dismount 

_____7. Learn and practice the following skills on the still rings.

_____pull-to-L-hold _____swing-to-inverted hang _____pike-to-cast-swing _____tuck-to-flyaway dismount

_____8. Learn how to do a basic vault on the vaulting horse.

_____9. Learn and practice the following skills on the parallel bars.

_____straddled front uprise _____support swing backward-forward _____straddled back stutz _____L-support _____swing rear dismount

_____10. Learn and practice the following skills on the horizontal bar.

_____inverted straddled stalder _____swing-to-tucked pullover

_____cast to back hip circle _____single-leg knee swing

_____half turn over the bar _____pike and cast-off bar

_____11. Demonstrate good sportsmanship while participating in this sport.
