Troop 488 always strives to be the best that it can. The Troop is constantly volunteering to help out in scouts, church, and the community. Troop 488 also encourages participation within service organizations within scouting like
Firecrafter and Order of the Arrow. Because of all the work Troop 488 has done in the past, the members are usually one of the first ones called on for helping out at scouting activities.
