Anasazi Ruins near Blanding

An isolated part of the desert near Blanding.These were small ruins that strung along around a ledge. There were numerous storage and living structures along that ledge but eventually you came to a big ruin. There were frequent places where you would be forced to go single file....easily defended. There were also numerous castle like structures on top.Eventually you came to a big crack that one would have to use logs to cross.....they were laid nearby.

To get started at one end of the ledge, you would have to climb down a ledge (see pic). Eventually we found the carved toeholds and handholds and did not need the rope. Most ruins were in surprizing good shape. If you look closely at the pic of the room, you can see that the earlier windows were later covered. For protection? Actually, the whole series of ruins seems made for defensive purposes.
