Piranha Plants are one of the most basic baddies from the Mario series.  These unpleasant plants are prone to popping out of pipes at the most inopportune moments--their spiny jaws clamp shut on anything passing over!  They generally, however, appear essentially immobile.
Cataquacks are also found in Mario's world.  Prone to spending their lives on the beaches, these miserable menaces seem to get a real kick out of flinging smaller creaures aside with their tremendous bill-like beaks.  Cataquacks are also surprisingly fleet-footed!
Klap Traps are known to be actually quite intelligent--some are rumored to even be capable of speaking!  These sharp-toothed critters are extremely fast and can pack quite a punch, although they have very little protection from being squished with a single stomp.  They're wily little devils!
Bokoblins are crafty fighters with quick wits and fast reflexes.  Their expertise with a number of makeshift weapons makes them a threat in any fight, although they generally lack any form of defensive item to blunt the damage they take.  Bokoblins seem to be surprisingly lucky~!
At first glance, the Armos appears to be a huge threat to anything in its way.  However, it's downfall, a poor speed and lackluster intelligence, are actually quite harmful to it, balancing out its huge advantage in attack power, defense, and stamina.  Armos Warriors are from Zelda.
The Hammer Brother is fairly well-rounded in all aspects; a strong fighter by nature, with a convenient blend of abilities and knowledge, make it a prime candidate for the 2005 champion!  Hammer Brothers have appeared and reappeared throughout the Mario Bros. series.
When all is said and done, the Goonie does not look at all like a warrior you may put your money on to win the tournament.  It's low-level skills and poor attributes make it an unlikely winner, but it's surprising speed often takes the enemy by surprise, and it often comes in swarms!
Stalfos knights are common foes in the Zelda games, and have proven over the years to be one of the most-hated gaming baddies of any game!  Stalfos knights are not only strong, but also surprisingly cunning, and are often well armed, to boot!  Its only weak point is its speed~
The lowly Goomba has never obtained much respect, and still poses a minimum threat in the tournament.  It's skills are severely lacking, although it's small size enables it to out-maneuver many opponents several times its size, and also tends to land lucky hits quite frequently...
Whomp is sometimes confused with the more common (and less mobile) cousin, Thwomp.  Unlike Thwomps, Whomp has arms and legs, and can actually transport himself.  His bad temper helps contribute to his rock-strong defense, which cuts down on the damage dealt to him!
The Zinger is a real pain in combat, but its lack of real logic makes it easily disposable, if the chance presents itself.  Armed with thorns on its back, Zinger likes to swoop in for close (pokey) combat, but it doesn't take much to swat this bug from the sky.
The Snifit is something like a Shy Guy with better weaponry.  Because he carries an extra weapon on his mask, the Snifit is weighed down and is therefore slower.  Crafty and quick, Snifits are capable of really stirring up some trouble.  The Snifit is part of the old 8-Bit Gang.
The Spotty Bulborb is a menacing foe, even if remotely silly looking, and should be handled with extra caution.  Its oversized mouth, while commonly used for feeding on small prey, has also been known to take a chunk out of many an enemy in combat~.
Necky is relatively weak in many aspects, but can also prove to be more than a match for other combatants, particularly when it uses its wings for evasive maneuvers.  It often escapes severe blows, and can take down even the toughtest of opponents, if careful.
Thwomp may be rather incapable of moving in most directions, but he can make progress faster by turning side-over-side, like a cube, to roll along.  His real strength lies in his ability to crush and kill his opponent with a single blow--if timed correctly, his attack may be fatal!
Poppy Bros. Jr. is a little menace in his own right.  Crafty as a Shy Guy, and strong as a warrior, these little fiends have successfully adapted to many forms of combat, and are prone to using most of their resources in battle.  While not incredibly boastful in stamina, this guy can more than hold his own in battle!
The Fuzzy uses many attributes to its advantage, including its blistering speed and reasonable intelligence.  One of the top abilities of the Fuzzy, however, is its distinct "life-sucking" attack, which drains the energy from an opponent and converts it to additional Fuzzy health!
Wiggler is not only decently fast, but also rather strong!  Add in his amazing rage factor, which ignites a boost of strength when enraged, and you've got a gladiator fit for only the finest of battles!  Of course, the flower on the head is just a gimmik--laugh, and you'll be out on the ground like a light!
Raphael the Raven is often miscalculated as a valuable fighter, and he has become quite accustomed to being underestimated as a threat.  That's okay to him, because it means tearing his opponent to shreds will be all the sweeter~.

Monty Mole's special ability is more of a curse than a blessing.  While is speed is top-notch and he has a reasonable-sized collection of tools at his disposal, his weak eyes make light the most effective weapon to bringing him down in a hurry.  Break his shades and he'll be down!

The Octorock is a common enemy of Link and the people of Hyrule.  It's stats show minimal weaknesses, although its low intelligence makes it cake to outwit.  Those who enter its line of fire, however, may find themselves being pegged by its painfully-accurate rock-shots!
Whispy Woods Jr. is actually part of a long-standing Big Boss family.  Whispy Woods, a level guardian in several Kirby games, has passed on his angry spells to his offspring.  Jr. is prone to the same fits of rage that its father had, and can easily make use of such fury for stronger attacks!

Simply put, Lakitu is nearly helpless, should he be knocked from his cloud!  Worse still, his enemy can steal his cloud with ease and use it against him!  While in possession of his little foggy transportation, however, Lakitu becomes a deadly force worth avoiding!

Rex is a very simple opponent, with a very simple mind, a very simple plan, and a very simple goal: defeat the enemy.  His attacks, while rather basic, are generally effective, and his unique ability to squish but live on after being stomped comes in handy often!
Attack Power: 6
Speed: 9

A Shy Guy with a weapon is actually not so very different from a Stalfos with a weapon, despite an obvious lack of scare-factor.  Shy Guys are quick, ingenius, and skilled with more weapons than a surplus army stockroom, and their adaptablity makes them a threat ANYWHERE.  Shy Guys don't take much abuse, however.

The Mouser looks like a strong competitor, with its amazing speed and intelligence, but it's actually very prone to running out on a fight, forfeitting the match immediately.  Such an unreliable fighter is bound to lose at least one battle...right?
Bumptys are merely penguins...but they have proven over and over to be quite the clever enemies.  The raw speed and wit of a Bumpty is often enough to completely overcome and subdue even the biggest of opponents.  Perhaps their greatest aspect, however, is staying cool~

Bandits are crafty little devils that excel in the art of thievery, particularly the stealthy variety.  Pickpocketing is a natural talent for these buggers, and they can really cause a whallop to even the biggest of foes!  Their combination of speed and intelligence makes them quite a deadly adversary in any situation!

Crazee Dayzees are like the underappreciated gruntlings of Yoshi's Island.  Above the Shy Guys, though.  Though they sing beautifully, these little petal-headed menaces actually seem to soothe enemies so fantastically that foes literally zone out; their voices put enemies to sleep!  What crazy little fiends indeed!

Magikoopas are definitely unpopular with other fighters.  As a matte of fact, they tend to be pretty unappreciated by the crowd, as well!  The classic heel in action, Magikoopas seem to have WAY too much going for them, when, in actuality, they're only average in many aspects.  So misunderstood!

The Bob-omb works hard and fights well, but, at the end of the day, is simply out-matched by many opponents.  So, he puts his *special* condition to use, and erupts on any unsuspecting fighter when all seems lost.  A tricky tactic, but one with double-effects: Bob-omb takes himself out as well, resulting in a draw!

Toady is one of several little gremlings under the rule of Kamek, an infamous leader among Magikoopas.  Toadies use their propellered heads to swoop in on unsuspecting prey, though they often miss, on account of their daftness.  Unsuspecting fighters may be shocked by its IQ!

The hard-working Buzzy Beetle is quite used to the sweltering heat and miserable conditions associated with tromping about on four stubby legs, face pressed to the ground.  Its dedication is admirable, however, and its endurance, impressive.  Could he be more of a threat than he looks?
Attack Power: 4
Speed: 4

Koopa Troopa has seen plenty of action and lime light since he's begun hanging out more with the Mario crowd, and spent less time under Bowser's oppressive authority.  Naturally laid-back, he keeps calm during fights, and presents a constant force to be reckoned with, considering his average stats.
Attack Power: 6
Speed: 5

Boo is one of the more over-rated fighters in existance.  Simply his name has developed into a household term, and his appearance is not one that is uncommon to find on t-shirts and cereal boxes.  Still, fame has not gone to his head; his brilliant stats prove their worth to him in each and every battle!
Attack Power: 8
Speed: 5

Scary, cunning, and ruthless, the Sharp Claw are a vicious bunch of carniverous beasts.  As a troop, they use their nasty appearance and mean attitude to get what they want, whenever they want.  Even as an individual, no Sharp Claw has ever been known to back down from a challenge--they naturally love conflict!
Attack Power: 4

The Dry Bones monster is one of legend.  As the stories say, Dry Bones can be stomped, squished, smashed, and crushed, yet piece itself back together like some sort of demented, three-dimensional puzzle.  Rumor has it, however, that a cape is enough to halt the beast from rising again from the dead.
Attack Power: 5
Speed: 3

Daring, slick, and spiney, the Pokey is a walking, snapping cactus, with a special interest in puncturing opponents with its prickly needles!  Its thick array of spikes prevent most direct attacks, and, as a last result, the Pokey has even launched pieces of itself at enemies as projectiles, on occassion!
Attack Power: 5
Speed: 7

Bullet Bill is no rookie to the business of "kill or be killed."  In fact, it's his very motto, and has been ever since his first feud with Mario.  Being launched out of a cannon as a projectile isn't always all its cracked up to be, either, and it's put poor Bill in a rather nasty mood, as of late.  Perhaps his rage will help in battle...

Moblin is a devious brute with a mix of cunning and strength.  Armed at all times with a sharp spear, he needs only one blow to lay out most opponents.  Those who mess with him must make use of his slow movement and capitalize on his inability to evade attacks.  Moblin hopes to whack foes before they can strike.

The Blooper is some sort of deranged octopus or squid, or so it would appear.  Armed with the ability to spray ink at foes, and the unnatural skill of land survival, Blooper can leap right out of the water and survive on land until it flops away again to the water.  While on land, however, it remains mostly immobile.

An X-Naut may appear weak, but he should never be underestimated.  The low man on the X-Naut totem pole, he works as a grunt and foot soldier, battling the toughest foes for the biggest bruises and the lowest pay.  Beware his uncanny intelligence, and surprising speed!  He's a tough little Naut!
Attack Power: 10
Speed: 2
Tools: 9

Not to be confused with the X-Naut, the Dark Nut is an armor-bound powerhouse, built for destruction and mayhem.  Carrying a huge sword and dealing damage with its immense, metal-plated fists, it can more than put a cramp in the day of any opponent; it can take off a foe's head!  Speed is its weakness.
Attack Power: 9

The Lava Bubble seems like a simple foe: a ball of fire that leaps and springs at opponents.  True to its appearance, its mental capabilities are rather straight-forward, as well: its plan of attack seldom varies, and it rarely tries a trick other than the simple spring-and-land formula.  "Can't touch this!"
Attack Power: 9
Speed: 3

The Fiery Blowhog is a mammoth of a beast, with a long snout for spewing flames out of.  Its slow speed make it vulnerable to attacks, but its thick skin protects it from suffering much damage on a single blow.  If approached closely, it may resort to stomping or charging to clear out its opponent.
Attack Power: 7
Speed: 3

Perhaps the buffest, baddest villain to be entered in the 2005 YS Tournament, Krusha has some very big guns, and we're not talking about the kind that need bullets to function!  Though he's very good at roughing up opponents, he lacks most other branches of skill, and can be entirely clumsy in a fight.
Attack Power: 8
Speed: 5
Tools: 2
IQ: 4
Klump is obese, obscene, and genuinely dense.  That said, he certainly knows how to win a fight.  Using his girth for protection, his helmet for extra defense, and an arsenal of explosive oranges for assault (or for a snack, on occassion), he can more than hold his own in most any fight against most any opponent.
Nearly impossible to kill, the Redead is considered a zombie, due to its post-life status.  Its limbs are easily bent and detachable, yet the creature never seems pained or bothered by the loss of such useful limbs.  Because of its dead body, pain is a non-issue.  Redeads are able to be blinded by light and certain songs.
Attack Power: 6

Chain Chomp is like a living ball-and-chain, but with the mouth of a shark.  Being tethered at all times by a long steel chain, he rarely gets a chance to go out on his own for a massacre. Very few things can stop a rampaging Chain Chomp--who's foolish enough to try?
Attack Power: 8

Pesky, swift, and weak, the Swooper is a little vampire-like bat, found most often hanging in caves.  Its homing-like flight patterns make avoiding it a chore, and its blood-sucking fangs can poison opponents quickly.  Opponents who find the Swooper latched on have a very short amount of time to rid themselves of it.
Attack Power: 5

One of the most famous gruntlings, Kremling is merely a soldier in the vast army of creatures King K. Rool hires to do war against the Kong clan.  Underequipped and underappreciated, Kremling goes about his business every day without fail, knowing that this might be the day he'll be squashed.
Attack Power: 4

Surprisingly witty, Spiny has more than a few tricks up his sleeve.  From climbing walls and ceilings to spinning at foes, Spiny continually takes his opponents by surprise.  His small size makes him easily underestimated, but foes who make that mistake will pay most dearly.
Attack Power: 6
Speed: 6

Chilly has the interesting ability to freeze his environment at will, including anyone within his power's reach.  With such a deadly talent, he may seem unbeatable, but his mediocre speed, lack of weapons, and weak power make him less threatening than he appears.  After all, freezing a foe doesn't win a dime.
Attack Power: 4
Speed: 4

Sirkibble is a brave little knight with some handy moves at his disposal.  His most famous weapon of choice is the cutter, which he flings with deadly accuracy, then retrieves as it soars back to him through the air.  He does not, however, hold any specifically strong talents in any area.
Attack Power: 5

Tektite is a grotesque spider-like being, with spindly legs, a repulsive red eye, and the uncanny ability to walk on water.  Unlike such things as Water Spiders, however, Tektite, most disturbingly, is also bigger than most children--just the sort of meal it preys on.  By lopping off its limbs, foes can take the Tektite down much more easily.
