Advance Wars: Dual Strike
STORY: Some months have passed since the war in Macro Land (previous Advance Wars game) and the people there are immensley grateful. But now the Black Hole Army is regrouping and starting war in Omega Land. New Commanding Officer Jake and a whole slew of other CO's are called to work with minor amounts of troops in hopes of containing this new outbreak. But how did the Black Hole replenish itself so quickly? And who is their new leader? 7/10

GAMEPLAY:
In Advance Wars, you make troops and vehicles in an attempt to get across the map and either destroy all your opponents troops or capture their headquarters. Thanks to the dual screen setup, a player can now control air units (top screen) as well as ground troops (touch screen), which really demands you pay attention to a lot of information. Now it sounds nifty, but it seems rather pointless when the computer can control the top screen and pull off the job just as easily. Along with the dual screen setup, we're given the chance to control 2 CO's at once, and switch during the battle to a CO that better fits the situation, which definately comes in handy when you are low and cash and a CO has the special power to bring in some serious cash when you're in a tight spot. The only downfall is only being able to save at the main menu, which sucks when you are at war for an hour or two at a time, then lose. But I suppose when all is said and done, not a bad setup. 8.0/10

GRAPHICS:
Graphics are pretty good as far as DS titles go. Each battle unit (tanks, helicopters, etc...) all have their own moves when battle ensues. Nothing really too terribly complicated though, as pleasant as watching a tank annhilate a legion of troops, it gets old after the third or fourth mission. 7.5/10

MUSIC AND SOUND:
The music is mediocre at best, it has its dark moments when CO's from Dark Hole Army are having their typical "we shall rule the world" monologue, and it has its typical music thats played during the battles, while it doesn't really get old, it would be nice if there was a little spice in there somewhere. And battle sounds get old really quickly. Having to the same sound when each indivual unit fires its weapons gets very irritating, Especially being a turn based game and you know the sound is coming when you position your troops for a fight or get attacked by Black Hole. 4.0/10

CONTROLS:
The player uses either the stylus or the D-pad and buttons in order to carry out all the functions of the game. From making troops, to moving them, from taking over neutral or enemy buildings, to supplying your units with fuel and ammunition. A basic setup, but it works remarkably well and is easy to pick up. 9.5/10

MULTIPLAYER:
Not been tested.

Tanooki's Overall Rating: 7.5/10

Not a bad turn based strategy game. If you're a fan of that type of game-play, then this surely won't disappoint you.
