Playing with little animals has never been this much fun...
Animal Crossing
Nintendo, the innovative bunch that they have been known to be, just continue to imagine these impressive ideas for video games. Well, Animal Crossing is one of the latest inventions from the big ‘N’. While the game appears to be more appropriate for a youngster, it really does appeal to diverse age groups. Therefore, after hearing much of the excitement over this game, I figured I would buy it. Believe me, I do not regret purchasing Animal Crossing at all.

The basic plot of this game starts with you, as a furry little animal creature, moving into this town. However, you have no money. Uh-oh, that is not good. However, you meet Tom Nook, the owner of the nearest ‘item’ shop. You work for him to be able to live in a small house. As the game progresses on, you end up doing favors for the townsfolk to gain money and pay off your house. This gets tedious excessively quickly, since you are doing a lot of the same stuff repeatedly. Yet again, I still did these missions, because I enjoy the game as a whole.

Do not get me wrong; I really did enjoy this game. The graphical presentation was interesting, and Nintendo seems to like this ‘cartoony’ graphic style. I am sure gamers complained about how they looked too kiddy-like. I myself like to call them fools. Nintendo put much time into creating a game that looks like a fantasy world, and they did just that. In addition, if you are a fan of Nintendo’s music and sound, you will not be disappointed with Animal Crossing. This game has all the zany sounds and catchy music that you have been listening to for how many years now. Yet, they never get boring. On the other hand, I do not like one big flaw about the sound. The town’s people will speak in some bizarre, quick language when you approach them. I am content they did not use human voices, but the voices can get on a person’s nerves. Sometimes, they lag on with the conversation. Besides that, though, I was pleased with the sound.

Finally, the value of Animal Crossing. Honestly, this game will go on forever. It is a world inside of another world. If you are a type of individual that sits in your room and just plays games, this is perfect for you. While there is no multiplayer in the game, you will not need it. This single player alone will keep you busy for a long time. Nintendo even threw in a little connectivity with your GBA. Hook it up, and you can have your own tiny island in the Game Boy Advance. Nintendo even added NES games that you can play in Animal Crossing, like Excite Bike. Ah, it feels like the good ol' days.

In the end, no Gamecube owner should miss out on this package. Although it has some annoying flaws, all video games have them. It is expected that no game is perfect. The positives of this game ultimately drown the negatives. For anyone who has spare time on his or her hands, this is the game for you.

Final Score:
85/100 (Silver)
Positive: Always something to do
Negative: Time consuming
What Kind of: Language are they speaking?
· Well, it seems that our animal friends love to play dirty.
