Battle 4: War of the Welded
PY: Hello once again and welcome back to another exciting edition of Yoshi Stadium, where we get to see more monsterous action, explosive fighting, and, on occaision, a falling cement mixer.  Yeah, we're that wild.  At any rate, if you recall correctly, our last battle was an action-packed free-for-all war between Nintendo's most populous gangs; we're talking the Pikmin, the Pokemon, and the Yoshis.  After a long and grueling fight, the Pikmin came out on top of the other two and claimed victory for World War III.  However, that was last time; this is NOW.  And we've got a pair of eager fighters lined up and ready to battle this time again, and Chunky Smee, my partner in commentating, is already down on the field with the more familiar of the two.  Smee?

CS: Hey everyone and welcome back to Yoshi Stadium!  As Pirate said, I'm down here on our battle field, which happens to be the soggy marshes of the Forest Springs, found on the home planet of the Pikmin.  With me is my dear friend and our current champion, Super Mario.  Welcome back once again, Mario!

Mario: Hello, everyone-a!  I'm-a so glad to be-a here!

CS: Let's cut to the chase, Mairo; you're opponent is going to be very tough today; do you really think you can overcome your obvious disadvantage?

Mario: Of course-a!  Not a problem at all for Super Mario!

CS: Well, let's just hope you aren't blowing smoke!  You've got something to prove to us now!  Back to you Pirate!

PY: In deed he does, Smee, as Super Mario will be fighting against the metallic version of himself here today!  That's right, our fight today is between undefeated Super Mario and his first-time-fighting metallic clone, Metal Mario!  I think Mario may be a bit faster than his clone, but being metal will certainly prove to have its own advantages, too.  Our referee today will be Buzz, who is a rookie referee.  Buzz blows the whistle and our fighters come out swinging!

CS: Mario and Metal Mario are very obviously quite similiar.  Both fling a fire ball at the other at the same time!  While Mario's fire ball burns out against Metal Mario's tin torso, Metal Mario's projectile hits Mario hard and he screams in pain, swatting out a small flame that erupts on his arm as the fire ball burns out.  Things are starting out looking down on Mario.  M: 0  MM: 1

PY: Metal Mario takes advantage of Mario's stun and tackles him!  Using his metal body, he slams Mario to the ground hard and slams him into the dirt!  Mario struggles to get up, but Metal Mario is much too heavy.  In desperation, Mario snakes his hand around Metal Mario's foot and quickly unscrews the bolt attaching his ankle to his leg!  Metal Mario's foot comes off and Mario scrambles out of the way as Metal Mario, fuming, grabs his foot and screws it quickly back on again.  Good thinking, Mario!  M: 1  MM: 3

CS: Yes, but Mario's going to need to do more than that if he's going to win this!  Metal Mario comes clanking across the arena as Mario scampers up a tree.  Metal Mario sees him and slams an iron fist against the tree trunk, bashing right through it!  The tree sways uneasily, then topples down with Mario screaming in its branches!  The tree hits the ground and is hanging over the edge of the large lake that sits on the edge of the arena!  Mario clings to the upside-down brances for dear life as Metal Mario comes clanking down the trunk towards him, looking to finish him off for good!  M: 1  MM: 4

PY: Mario's in trouble!  We've got to do something to help him!  Quick, let's drop him an item!  (Pirate pulls a lever and a Super Deluxe Do-it-yourself Welding Set falls from the sky.  Mario is dazed from the fall and the kit lands right on his head, bouncing off and landing right in front of him)  Yes!  Direct hit!

CS: Umm, Pirate?  I don't think that was a good idea.

PY: What?  Why not?

CS: .........BECAUSE METAL MARIO HAS JUST PICKED IT UP HIMSELF!  Mario screams as he realizes that Metal Mario is coming towards him with the welder out!  The welder sparks and Mario dives between Metal Mario's aluminum legs as his metallic clone swings with the welder and misses.  Mario scampers towards shore again as fast as his legs can carry him, with Metal Mario chasing close behind, swinging that welder back and forth!  This is not looking good at all for Mario!  M: 1  MM: 5

PY: Okay, you're right. That was a bad idea.  Metal Mario finally has Mario cornered and is coming closer and closer with the welder.  Mario is trapped.....spying a branch hanging over head, he leaps up high, grabbing it, then springs upwards right over Metal Mario, who slashes the air with the welder!  Mario lands safely on the other side of his foe, then he sprints away as Metal Mario swings again, leaving a deep weld mark in the ground!  M: 2  MM: 5

CS: Mario's gotten lucky so far, but his luck has about run out!  He's run into the water with no where else to turn, and Metal Mario is close behind!  Mario slips and falls down, stuck in the mud, as Metal Mario splashes in after him!  Mario looks up as Metal Mario raises the welder above his head..........AND BEGINS TO OVER-LOAD WITH ELECTRICITY!  I can't believe it!!!!  Metal Mario is being electrocuted!  Between the electric welder and his metal circuits and the water around him, he's beginning to short-circuit!  Even as he does, his legs rust up so he cannot escape!  There's smoke pouring out of him all over!  He's done for!!!  Mario gets to his feet and dives past him onto shore as sparks fly out of Metal Mario and his head explodes, shattering metal shrapenel all over!  Mario has just defeated Metal Mario!!!!  M: 7  MM: 5

PY: Impossible as it is, the battle is over, Mario is the victor, and, yet again, I have to say it: "Amazing things are always happening here at Yoshi Stadium!"  Seriously, though, they really are, and this is just another one of them.  If you thought this battle was riveting, just wait until our next match in which we see some of Yoshi Stadium's finest duke it out for an honor to be called the champ of Nintendo!
