| RED vs GREEN |
| PY: Welcome once again to Yoshi Stadium! I'm Pirate Yoshi, head of Yoshi Stadium, and with me once again is my good friend and comrade, Chunky Smee. We're here today to see a special Christmas match of altered goals between the Red team and the Green team! Get it, Smee? Christmas colors! CS: Fancy that... PY: As I said, today's battle is going to be a bit different than usual, but I'll explain more in a moment. Right now, we've got some introducing to do. Do the honors, Smee. CS: With pleasure. Today's referee is going to be our good friend K. K. Slider, a wonderful musician who has given up some time from his busy song writing and playing career. Also, we'd like to thank our dear little Animal Crossing villager, Yoshi from Delfino, for giving up his home temporarily for this match. We assure you, Yoshi, that your house will be extremely famous after this battle and that Yoshi Stadium will reimburse you for any damages done to your home while our battle ensues. PY: Yeah, I'm sure. At any rate, I suppose we'd best introduce the stars of today's battle. So, starting with Captain for the Red team.........SUPER MARIO! (Super Mario marches out across the snow) CS: Mario will be leading the Red team, which also consists of Samus Aran, Donkey Kong, Diddy, Peach, and Kirby. These fighters make up the Red team. PY: Of course, we can't have the Red without having the Green, and our mascot, Yoshi, is captain of the Green team! (Yoshi marches out to stand opposite Mario and his team) CS: Joining Yoshi will be Link, Luigi, Bowser, K. Rool, and Fox McCloud. This looks like a match to end all matches! PY: Indeed it is, but we must first explain the rules: Unlike a standard Yoshi Stadium battle, this match has certain requirements. Rather than simply releasing our fighters to beat each other to a pulp, we are setting a goal for each team to achieve; the first team to achieve their goal will win! Today, one team will be attemp to steal the star off of the other team's Christmas tree and return it to their own tree! This sounds confusing, but, trust me, it's very simple: The Red team will be using a red house as their base. Across from them are the Green team, who will be using a green house for their base. Each house has a Christmas tree within with a star at the top. Only two members from each team may be inside the house at once. These players are the Star Guards. All other players must be outside. When I say go, the teams will try and obtain access to each others' houses, steal the star off of the Christmas tree within, and then make it back to their own tree and place the star on their tree. They must have their own star on their tree as well in order to score. The first team to get the star back to their tree and hang it with their team's star wins! We will throw out some weapons for them as the game moves onwards. CS: Stretching between the two homes, just to make things a bit more difficult, are a vast assortment of obsticles. Namely, a dense forest, a garbage dump, a stream with a rope bridge, and the Post Office. Players can take cover behind any of these things and will probably find that most of the fights take place in these environments. PY: Now, remember, everyone! This is a no-holds barred free-for-all! Everybody understand? Good! On your marks........get set.............GO! CS: The teams immediately run to their bases. Green has chosen Bowser and K. Rool to guard their flag. Now there's a pair of thugs I wouldn't want to mess with! PY: Mario has named Donkey Kong and Peach Red's Star Guardiens. A less intimidating pair, I suppose, but definately volatile, none the less. CS: Yoshi has grouped up most of his teammates and is leading them through the heavily-wooded area of the battlefield. He meets Mario's troops head on and the two fight! Samus blasts away and Yoshi falls! Fox relfects the shots back, however, and Samus goes down. Link takes on Diddy Kong with his Master Sword as Diddy prances about, narrowly dodging the blows. Link swings hard and lands a blow, sending the Kong reeling. Luigi and Mario clash together, shoving each other at the same time. Mario flings a fireball at the same time as Luigi does and the fireballs destroy each other. Luigi makes use of his long legs and swiftly kicks at Mario, taking his short legs out from under him. The older brother goes down and Luigi runs forwards, now leading the charge on Red's base. PY: Yoshi has gotten to his feet and has made his way into the garbage dump area, which we have stocked. However, he is the first to discover what we have stocked it with for the fight: weaponary! We have turned that dump into a huge armory down there, and nobody has discovered it yet except for Yoshi! He has picked up a Guided Rocket Launcher and is running back out. As he does this, he passes Mario, who comes hobbling in. The plumber's eyes light up as he sees all the weaponary, then he grabs up the next best thing he can find, a shotgun, and runs back out towards Green's base! Things are heating up! CS: Link, Luigi, and Fox have come in sight of Red's base, but Peach and Donkey Kong have a surprise for them: grenades! A shower of hand grenades fill the air as the small, round explosives hit the ground beside the Green attackers. Fox takes one look and screams to run. He grabs up the grenade and hurls it, just in time. The grenade blows up just yards away, but Fox puts on his reflector and the sharpenel bounces back! He and the other two attackers swiftly retreat back into the woods as Peach and DK continue hurling the grenades. PY: Red has found Green's base unguarded........or so they think. Kirby opens the front door to stare into the giant, terrifying face of Bowser, who grabs him and hurls him back across the yard as hard as he can, sending Kirby tumbling right back into the woods, where he runs into a tree. Samus draws her arm cannon and blasts away at the Koopa, knocking him down, stunned. She runs through the doorway, but K. Rool drops from the ceiling on her, slamming her to the ground and knocking her out. He grabs her and hurls her back through the door into the snow. CS: Meanwhile, Yoshi has seen the problems with entering Red's base and has climbed a tree on the edge of the woods overlooking Red's base. Though DK may be strong, even he can't throw a grenade up into the tree from that far away. Yoshi carefully takes aim and fires a guided missile into Red's base! It dentonates quickly, smashing into a wall, and DK is blown right out the door into the snow, completely unconcious. Peach, too, is hurled into a wall and is out cold. With a triumphant cheer, Green races up to Red's base, running right over DK and into Red's cramped headquarters. Climbing onto Luigi's shoulders, Fox grabs the star off of the tree, then they turn and run out the door across the snow, disappearing into the woods. PY: Mario hears a lot of noise as he runs towards the Green base. Stopping, he turns and sees a sea of armed Green players (who have obviously stopped at the dump to arm themselves), carrying the Red team's star! He pulls out his shotgun and takes careful aim before firing. Link is hit with a blast of spreadshot and goes down, followed quickly by Luigi. Fox, carrying the star, sees that he and Yoshi are in trouble. They can't seem to see Mario, who fires another shot, just missing Fox. Quickly, he and Yoshi duck for cover behind a pine tree and another shot blasts into the trunk. Fox, carrying a blaster in one hand, reaches around the trunk and fires rapidly, forcing Mario to dive for cover behind a rock. Mario peeks around the top of the rock and is hit hard in the face with a missile, knocking him out. There is no stopping the Green Team as they run into their base for the score. The game is over and the Green Team has won! CS: Well, that looked like it hurt! Mario is waking back up, stunned, knowing that this game is over, but he's not ready to quit! Mario is on his feet and running like a madman into Green's Base, where they are celebrating. He pounds down Link with an iron-gloved fist! Yeowch! PY: Uh-oh! I smell an uneven brawl coming! Green attacks Mario, but the plumber avoids their blows and counters with a barrage of fireballs. Yoshi gulps down one with his tongue, then spews flames, roasting Mario! CS: Immediately, Bowser and K. Rool tackle Mario, shoving him to the ground, but K. Rool is suddenly blasted with a missile! Samus enters the frey! PY: Kirby, too, has approached, and, together, he and Samus have thrown down Bowser to free Mario! It may not be equal yet, but it's getting there! CS: Link strikes with his Master Sword and skillfully drives back Kirby. Kirby grabs the end of his sword, trying to pull it away, and Link flips him with a twist of his wrist, sending the pink puffball right out the door. Mario goes for Link's throat, but Bowser shoots a wave of flames at him, wiping Mario out. Diddy Kong goes at Bowser, but Fox grabs him and slams him into the wall, throwing him right through the cheap house siding and outside into the snow! PY: Luigi and Mario are fighting. They wrestle, tumbling over each other, and slam against each other until they are falling right out the door and stumbling closer and closer to the small stone bridge crossing the nearby stream. Mario grabs Luigi and throws him right over backwards onto the bridge, but Luigi counters and slams Mario down with a swift punch. The two are dangerously close to falling in........it's a fight to the drench! CS: And it looks like Mario might win it! He has Luigi pinned, his head swaying over the water. Luigi delivers a strong kick, knocking Mario right over him! Mario reaches out and grabs the edge of the bridge before he can fall in and hangs there percariously! Luigi gets up, but Mario grabs his ankle and he falls off the bridge as well! Before he can hit the water, he grabs onto Mario's ankles, clinging there! Mario squirms as he begins to lose his grip and Luigi silently begs him to hold on. Mario is pouring sweat all over as he tries to maintain his grip, but he finally loses it and falls. The two topple backwards into the water, where they are sucked downstream before finally swimming to shore on opposite beaches. This brawl is over. Green wins the match! PY: Well, that was pretty impressive! But, as we always say, crazy things are always happening here at Yoshi Stadium! Next time, we'll see another old-fashioned brawl between our spaced-out bunch of galactic warriors, Captain Falcon vs. Fox McCloud vs. Samus Aran! This will be one battle you won't want to miss! CS: Spaced out, huh? I like that. PY: You would. |
