The fight starts, and Rex immediately blows a wave of flames out at his opponent. Lakitu, however, hovers right over the flames in his cloud, then zips over Rex's head before raining spiked eggs down upon the dinosaur. Rex tries to flee as the spiny gifts-from-above shower down upon him. As he staggers to safety, however, Lakitu rushes in for a finishing blow, and rams his opponent with all the force he can muster. Rex is sent hurtling through the air before tumbling onto the ground and skidding to a stop, out cold.
