| This costume was started about one month before the convention it was to premire at. At the time a friend (now my boyfriend) asked me if I would go as Lucrecia to go with his Turk Vincent costume. I agreed, since I love group stuff, and started working on it.The skirt had to be one of the easiest parts, Once I got the lay of the blue streaks across her skirt right. I already had the fabric for the skirt so that was simple. The bottom edge of the skirt was done with a rolled hem foot and was stretched while it was being sewn which gave it the wavy look it needed. The anklet was two chain braclets hooked together. The top was a near disaster I had the fabric left over from another costume and just enough to make a the top out of. I nearly cut the neckline too deep, thank goodness I didn't, that's what I get for not making a mock up first. The lab coat was made out of left over cotton fabric used for my Shuurei costume. I ended up doing a hair test and taking a photo which I used for a fake Shinra badge. I had an old badge holder from Opus that I put it in, which worked ok. I had to look everywhere to find shoes that were near the right size, shape and color and didn't have too much of a heel. As it is I was already going to be 4 inches taller than my Vincent. I think I spent more on the shoes then the rest of the costume and they ended up killing my feet by the end of the day, even so I still ran up and down 10 flights of stairs with them. But it was fun, I think 2 or 3 people recognized me. |
