Song of the Day:
Hurt as performed by Johnny Cash

I don't really have much to say.  I had some things to say earlier, but the ranting has died down and it all seems pointless. The closer it gets to my birthday, the less I have to say.

I've put some pictures of Sophie - my mom/step-dad's new dog and Collin on my
flickr site.

The Hawks played like crap over the weekend.  Seriously. WTF?  Yeah, it's just hockey.

Did you know silly putty dries your hands out?

Song of the Day:
Gravedigger (Acoustic) by Dave Matthews

I
<heart> PhotoShop and here's why:  (it may take a few seconds to load)

I took a simple picture of myself and converted it to an Andy Warhol-esque wallpaper.  It really helps me enjoy my job.  It should be required that everyone has PhotoShop at work.

Congratulations to Fashionista on closing on her first home.  I don't particularly like that nickname, but it's better than Monkey.  Besides, she dresses really well - I'm always impressed (and a little jealous) with  her look. Here's to many years in your first home.  It's always a lot of fun and a huge learning experience.  Here's to lime green polka dots on hot pink walls...

Oldest Plutonian and child are home now.  I've received a few emails with updates on how everyone is doing.  Here's hoping some sleep is in the cards in the near future.

I'm looking forward to next week - I have a five-day weekend - of which, I'm getting paid for two days.  Some days having worked at a place for five years pays off (for instance - my birthday = a paid holiday).  Now, if only they contributed to 401 (k), had a decent maternity leave, maybe a bonus here or there, and didn't have directors who were intimidating, controlling, and oftentimes threatening.  That, kids, would be utopia.

This year has really flown by.  It seems like only yesterday that I was making the promise of finding a new job by the first of June.  Then by Labor Day. Then my birthday.  There are days that I feel guilty for complaining.  After all, I AM employed.  I have a decent income coming in which allows me to pay for my bills and various debts with the occassional Starbucks tall, 2%, no whip, white chocolate mocha and blueberry muffin thrown in.  Then I come in and am yelled at by bossman for some insignificant detail, intimidated/humilitated by bossman, talked down to by closeted dweeb and/or pasty dweeb, or creeped out by CP (let's not forget the time he stroked my hair, kicked another female employee in the ass, pushed aside another female employee's hair and made her think he was going to kiss her neck, violated yet another female employee's personal space where she, too, thought he was going to kiss her and, finally, sent an email addressed to one person (a female employee) that contained the words "make love.") Let's not forget the now infamous speech where CP said "I miss my friend" when, in reality, said "friend" couldn't stand the bastard.  Yeah, then, I don't feel so guilty about wanting to find another job.  It's not always that bad.  Some days are fun even the bossman can be nice and joke around.  The bad days, though, erase all of that.

Let's talk Amazing Race.  I don't care for the Weavers, but I certainly don't hate them.  It seems the editors are having a lot of fun this season making people look like villans.  I read an interview with an eliminated team where the show made it seem like the teenage boy called his step-mom a bitch, when he really was speaking of his sister.  All the same, I still love the show.  It's unfortunate that there are only three episodes left and I am just now excited about Tuesday nights.

The dogs get their picture taken with Santa this weekend - it's part of a fund raiser for the Humane Society.  They never behave and we have difficutly getting them to sit in Santa's lap and look at the camera. The pictures always turn out, but I'm usually slightly embarassed by their ADD.  It's our fault for not teaching them manners.  Plus, I'd be kind of nervous sitting in some strange bearded man's lap.  I guess I could always rent a Santa costume for B and have them sit in his lap. Wouldn't that be fun!  Did you hear that? That was B saying "hell, no!"

Harry Potter opens this weekend.  I'm very concerned they will not finish all seven movies with the same cast.  I need the same cast.  We're planning on seeing the movie this weekend.  Next weekend, Rent opens and I would LOVE to see it.  It has absolutely nothing to do with Jesse L. Martin.  I swear.  Also, this is why I <heart> John Cusak.  Before you ask, my husband <hearts> more celebrities than I <heart>.  Don't let him tell you otherwise...it may seem like I <heart> more because my list keeps changing, not increasing. HOWEVER, I <heart> my husband the most! (awww/gag)

Big Cheese (not to be confused with bossman), quit reading while I'm updating. It's very rude.  I suppose that's what I get for saving while I'm still typing it out but it's a necessary precaution with the way technology works.

Jester is getting groomed on Monday. I hate having his hair cut off with winter approaching, but I'm hoping it will ease the itching.  It's also to help prevent future eye infections.  Luckily, he hasn't had one in about a year and a half.  Precious hasn't brought in any more dead critters. Thank heavens!  In final dog news, Sophie should be visiting over the Thanskgiving weekend.  I can't wait to meet her and I hope she and our terrors get along well.  I'll definitely post pictures on flickr.

Saturday, November 26, is the annual teddy bear toss at the Winter Hawks game.  So, buy your tickets and go buy some stuffed animals - the players deliver them to kids in the hospital.  It's all very sweet. Plus, you can try to hit the visiting team before they scamper off the ice!

Song of the Day:
Best of You by Foo Fighters

This is the last Monday of my 20s.  The. Last.  Monday. Ever.  After Friday, I will never be "under 30" again. It started off rather sucknatious, but it has since improved.  Mostly because I told myself to get over whatever was bothering me.  For some reason, I was just in a foul mood and everyone else seemed to be in a foul mood and acting horribly to me.  Yeah, totally in my head.  Sometimes I just need to remind myself how truly lucky and fortunate I am.  Lucky for you, kids, I didn't post while in a foul mood...trust me, it would have been a doozy.  Lots of Godzilla talk.

Yesterday was the fourth annual, torture the dogs day. We visited "Santa Paws."  It's a day where Jester gets tons of attention because he's an interesting looking (and hyper) dog and Precious is terrified by Santa.  I'm sure the picture will be cute and you'll be able to see how scared she is.  Jester, on the other hand, continuously licked Santa on the lips.  Mmmmm, tasty.

Today, I got paid to talk via email with Fashionista about falling poo. Jealous?  I thought so.

If you hear a loud crash, that's just me throwin my mouse out the window.  It's acting up and I can't figure out why. Rawr!

Birthday Countdown:

Song of the Day:
The Reason by Hoobastank

So. Very. Nauseous. Headache. Sneezy.  Congested.  Swoony.  Blah.

I just realized I read the part of the paper that just made a trip to the bathroom with the dweeby director.  Sigh.  I must go brillo my hands.  I will forgive him this one time, though, as he brought in doughnuts.  Oddly enough, I suggested this yesterday.  Ha! My powers have returned.

I had a weird dream last night:
John was still alive, but he was working at Starbucks as part of his cancer treatment.  I ordered my "usual" but he insisted I get double whipped cream instead of no whipped cream.  I kept arguing against that, but he took a cup and put whipped cream on the bottom and passed it on to the barista.  While I was waiting, I was talking to this girl I knew in college about the Regina Pats hockey club. (fyi, you pronounce it like vagina)  She was in love with one of the players. (which is rather gross as we're 10 years older than their oldest player)  I was attempting to look at their autograph books as they were coming off the printing press but things went horribly wrong and I broke the machine.  I went to get my coffee but they didn't have my order and told me John was on break.  His wife passed by me to go upstairs to the breakroom and when I looked up, I saw their dog (Jake, an Irish Wolfhound mix) looking down at me.  I got really excited to meet Jake (as I think Irish Wolfhounds are cool) and ran upstairs.  Only, no one was up there. It was just me and a bunch of cardboard boxes.  I felt very lonely.

Analysis for the dream?
Email me.

Dear bossman, it's my birthday week please quit yelling. Your laptop has a weird virus and is sending out spam.  Quit yelling at Big Cheese - she's doing the best she can to remedy the situation.  You should have listened to her and NOT OPENED THE ATTACHMENT!  It's your fault that you are now going to lose hours of valuable work time.  As will BC.

I'm going to lay my head down now...

Song of the Day:
Cool by Gwen Stefani

Concert.  Good. Really good seats - thank you so much, B!  During her second song, I noticed that Gwen's normally amazing abs looked a little thicker with a slight bump. So, I kept watching to see if maybe it was the outfit or if Gwen is pregnant.  She totally looked pregnant to me.  I did a little googling and found someone else thought the same.  The pregnancy hasn't been confirmed, but if it's true - you heard it from me!

We had a good Thanksgiving and I had an equally good birthday.

Precious and Jester didn't know what to make of Sophie.  She's a totally sweet and totally HYPER dog.

The teddy bear toss at the hockey game was a huge success.  Over 21,000 bears collected with 10,000 of those being donated by Dollar Tree customers.  The Hawks broke the all time record of over 13,000 stuffed animals.  Cool.  I'll have pictures on
flickr eventually.
