KITARO Music is loved all over the world. But it's hard to find the guide for those who is new to KITARO Music. Because record company, record label, CD shop...they are always saying "MUST!!" to every album. Articles and fans are almost doing the same. That's why many people are wondering "Which album I better pick up first (or next)??" among KITARO-san's many albums. Actually in KITARO-san's case, each album has different character, sometimes slightly, sometimes completely different. So if you want to pick up a right album, it might be better for you to have some REAL guide. Otherwise...might be tears in your eyes (??).

"How much you can enjoy the music" is always up to you. The following two hints will help you enjoying KITARO Music much better. Don't be afraid!! It's no difficult.

HINT 1
Basically KITARO-san creates an album as one music opus

Album is not the compilation of some individual songs (although there are some exceptions). And in most cases, KITARO-san's album has his typical musical "flow" which is represented through one album (in Young Persons' Guide to KITARO Music, this "flow" is called "KITARO-san's typical flow represented through an album"). The "flow" is important for KITARO-san when creating music, not only in his album but also in his live show. That's why Young Persons' Guide to KITARO Music strongly recommends the following...

in case listening to
KITARO-san's album		You must listen to one album from the beginning to the end without any stops. Any stops & any skips are forbidden!!. That's the easiest way to feel KITARO Music's charming point. But NEVER pick up compilation albums (like "the best of...") because they are not KITARO-san's opus and always lacking the "flow". (That's why Young Persons' Guide to KITARO Music never introduces compilation albums.) Also buying one single song, which is a part of KITARO-san's opus (i.e. album), via internet download is also forbidden!!.

KITARO-san's live show		All you have to do is to come to your seat before the show starts and to be there until the end. (Toilets must be done before or after the show.) And leave all your feelings to what happens in front of you. If you feel so good, move your body freely to the music (just like KITARO-san do on the stage). If you feel boring, BOO!!. If you like the show, attend KITARO-san's live show as many as possible. Because KITARO-san is not the musician who performs the same note every night. KITARO Music is evolving night after night. So every show is different even if the set list is the same. You are going to witness how KITARO Music is growing, and it gives you another pleasure of enjoying KITARO Music.

KITARO Music does not complete in albums

KITARO-san has said "Music in album is like a baby. Music grows by being performed on live tour". These words show the relation between KITARO Music in albums and in live shows. That's why Young Persons' Guide to KITARO Music introduces KITARO Music from the point of view of KITARO-san's whole performances which includes albums and live shows (otherwise, some day in the future, you will notice that what you saw in this website is only a part of KITARO Music!!). In fact, what you can hear in albums is LESS THAN 50% of KITARO-san's huge range of music vocabulary (recently, might be around 25%). This means that, in live shows, you can hear the rest. So it is completely obvious that, only in albums, you cannot touch and enjoy the truth of KITARO Music.



If you had some images or prepossessions about KITARO Music when you come here, throw them all away through your window!! Then, you are completely ready for KITARO Music. The next step is to listen to KITARO-san's album or to attend KITARO-san's live show.

To tell the truth, Young Persons' Guide to KITARO Music strongly recommends you to attend KITARO-san's live show FIRST!! Because there you can feel the aspects of KITARO Music ("what kind of music", charming point, etc. etc.) more than listening to albums, and you can get close to the truth of KITARO Music. You can see easily whether you like KITARO Music or not.

But probably the chance to attend KITARO-san's live show does not come so often. Then in most cases, the first contact with KITARO Music would be to listen to KITARO-san's album. Then Young Persons' Guide to KITARO Music might help you to pick up your very first KITARO album.
