Dedicated the memory of Harold "Ayche" Freshour.  To the lives he touched, he meant so much.

And definitely here
Sadly, on Friday, November 12th, WRUW discovered, through Patty (host of The Spandex Years, Saturdays 2-4 AM), that our friend, colleague, and musical reference guide, Ayche, had unexpectedly passed away at the too young age of 41, only 10 years my senior.  We recently learned that his passing was due to a life-threatening condition called "diabetes ketoacidosis (DKA)", the result of uncontrolled diabetes. I remember everyone's great respect for him at our station and really enjoyed getting to know him more when my show was moved to Tuesday.  We were often able to chat at that time as he was at the station helping Gary out with Music for Psychadelic Submaniers.  I knew that when I went to New Orleans he would a perfect sub for my show, and it was great.  I loved his "oh, no, the irony of our names has not been missed" statements.  I know he is in good company wherever he is and that the amazing musicians he loved who passed before him welcomed him in with open arms.  So, please, take a moment to discover this man who you definitely would have wished you could have known if you didn't have the chance.  So, Ayche, until I see you, here's to your memory.  Love, this H.
