When it comes to music, I find that a lot of mainstream music really stinks, and so does a lot of the underground. So I am very selective in what i listen to, and try not to base it on what others think about music. There is good mainstrem and good underground. A lot of the underground hardcore/emo stuff is great (jimmy eat world, the get up kids, juliana theory), as is a lot of the mainstream hardcore/hardrock (finger eleven, deftones, linkin park, P.O.D.). I think that underground fans are wrong in thinking that popularity is evil, and mainstream fans are wrong in thinking that popularity is everything. There needs to be a balance of musical prowess and musical integrity...quality sound to the listener and quality sound to the writer. Instead of basing a career on being popular, make music that is an expression of yourself. Instead of just doing whatever you want, even when people think its terrible, try to make music that people enjoy listening to. So it comes down to this: the duty of a musician is to create music that is a true expression of himself in order to help an unbiased audience understand his musical influence and expression.
Anyway...I hate liberalism, socialism, communism, humanism, evolution, the ACLU, and a whole bunch of crizzap like that. Im very conservative in my views (go charlton heston), but not quite a Libertarian.
Also, I'm really sarcastic and it bugs me when people think I'm serious. I love art, music, debates on politics and religion, food (Taco Bell, baby), and reading. According to Katie, I say Taco Bell and P.O.D. That's me, like you care. jerk...
