Stressed? Blame it on Oprah. Really!
If you just can't take the stress in your life anymore, don't watch "The Oprah Winfrey Show." Oprah is causing your stress. At least, that's the word from a study conducted by Hale Dwoskin, author of the new self-help best-seller "The Sedona Method," that claims the following: 5 percent of Americans are so stressed they don't know how to cope. Of those 5 percent, half of them watch "Oprah" regularly. Find out how your favorite comfort foods, such as ice cream and whipped potatoes, can stop stress cold. As if that isn't bad enough, the study also found out the following, according to Wireless Flash: --76 percent of "Oprah" fans say their lives are "insufficiently serene," compared to only 66 percent of non-fans. --"Oprah" fans are 50 percent more likely to pop pills for anxiety than fans of "Harry Potter." One way to manage stress is to achieve a work-life balance. Get a practical guide on how to get a grip on your time. Hale Dwoskin, who commissioned the study, told Wireless Flash that more research needs to be done before it can be determined if "The Oprah Winfrey Show" is causing the stress or if her show is simply more appealing to anxious people. "The Sedona Method" is a 432-page book from a small publisher that has rocketed to the New York Times' Best Seller List. Dwoskin's premise is that most cases of stress and anxiety can be relieved in just 60 seconds using his five-step method.
