I use to smoke weed along time ago when I was younger, from between 18-22, after that I stoped smoking it on a regular basis and do enjoy a good high every now and again, I'd say once every 6 months or so. During a dry time in my life I was around those who smoked constantly and seen what it does.

Weed in my honest opinion isn't as bad as most drugs; but isn't good in it's self. It takes away motivation and to be honest.....common sense and intellegence. Pot heads have to be the dumbest people I have ever met in my life, even though when your high what they are saying makes some sense.......but then again.....your high.

If it was used recrationally I don't see a big problem with it; but most people don't know the meaning of that word and think that recration means once a day, apose to once a week or month or whatever.

On the other hand I think it has many great medical purposes, but pot heads fuck that up by using that to there advatage. I seen a special on t.v. about somewhere out in Cali they was trying to do this but others was abusing the system.

Anyways I could ramble on about this but I won't. Just want to leave with some advice, have a good time with weed every now and again, it makes the high all that better and it gives you time to actually do something with yourself.

I have always thought that it should not be illegal but that it should be made to make the city/state/fed. gov. money. As a drug, it is probably the most enjoyable that I have ever tried, the only reason that I am not still actively using is because of the piss tests my company could give me. I started smoking pot when I was 19 and continued through four years in the Army (13 years) and stopped in 1995, but not really by choice, more by force. The force being the need for a better job, if it was legal I would still smoke it.

marijuana should at least be decriminalised.

i personally don't think pot heads are dumb. sure alot of pot heads are dumb but definately not all. my best friend smokes pot every day and i swear, he has more motivation, sharpness and coordination when he's high, than alot of people i know have when they're straight... including myself. also... my two brothers are smokers... daily smokers. one is a graphic designer... and goes to work high... every day. i'm not saying that pot is good... i just won't label pot heads as dumb asses as a stereotype.

i enjoy getting high, i used to get high every day, but i couldn't be as motivated as i like to be when i was high all the time... so now i just smoke every now and then... maybe once a week or so. maybe every few weeks. also... i used to practice various skills while high... the higher concentration level needed was excellent for increasing skill and coordination. in my case anyway.

Legalize it. The government should license and regulate production and distribution. This would get rid of a lot of crime associated with the growing and selling of it. The market is megabucks for organized crime. Vancouver is one of the largest sources of illegally grown marijauna. There's speculation that most of the grow ops are run by the Hell's Angels, Hong Kong Triads and Vietnemese gangs. Legalizing it would put a huge dent in organized crime's wallets.

It would be to everyone's benefit if marijuana was legalized. As far as health risks go, it is no worse than smoking cigarettes. And it is maybe even less harmful than alcohol. Legalization does not mean that it would be totally unregulated either. The sale of the drug could be controlled just as th sale for cigarettes and alcohol is controlled. The government could make a lot of money from excise taxes, which could mean less tax money coming from the average citizen. The result of legalizing marijuana would be similar to the end of prohibition. Once alcohol could be sold legally again, it took a lot of power away from the organized crime lords, which benefitted all of society. I think it is stupid to use any drug, though. By doing so, you are only hurting yourself. There are plenty other ways to have fun, and if you use it to escape problems, you just cause another bigger problem. Drug use just holds you back from what you could accomplish. However, this is not a perfect world, and when people do use drugs, they are just hurting themselves. The benefits of legalization outweigh the costs.

my own personal opinion is that people ought to have the right to do what the hell they want, unless it's people i care about.
call that double standards if you like, but i got my fiancé to stop smoking for the simple fact that i don't want him doing anything that can damage his body or even at an extreme level, ultimately kill him!
Was it selfish of me not to want him to smoke? perhaps so. I can not even contemplate how devastated i would be if he got lung cancer or summit!
Same goes for weed. It may be no more harmful than cigarettes, but i'd rather that people i care about do not smoke it!
Yeh it's selfish of me to be only bothered if the people i care about get harmed, and not other people, but despite what i've just been going on about, i think people ought to have free will. if they become ill from smoking cigarettes or weed or taking other drugs, then it is on their own heads really!

and it isnt that im NOT bothered if other people want to do what they like to themselves, but i cant change the world by exerting my own opinions onto people, nor do i care to try. it would be a waste of time and people would think i'm a crazy lunatic! i'll just sit back and think to myself how i wish people took better care of themselves.
but as far as it goes, i'll never stop trying to get people i care about to stay off cigarettes and drugs, coz it's my own free will to do that! hopefully they will care enough about me back to NOT think i'm a crazy lunatic (whereas total strangers probably would) and they may not listen to me (thankfully my fiancé did), but i do NOT want to see people i love ill or dying! period!

I think marijuana should be regulated. I've heard it can be beneficial for people suffering from debilitating illnesses, and can alleviate the pain they may experience, so it can be useful if used in moderation. I also heard that marijuana does not have severe side effects, but it can reduce your IQ, if you smoke over an extended period of time (it affects certain parts of your long-term memory, I believe.) I don't know much about marijuana though and I am not into the drug scene.

Especially after a bad day at work, (the 3 of us worked together) we would spark through a few bowls and be so relaxed. But if we didn't, then we didn't. Not an addiction. And the movies always seemed so much funnier. Anyways, I'm off topic. Yes, it should be legalized. People are always talking shit about how it's a drug and all the stereotypes of what drugs can do. Let me tell you something, after an evening of staring down a gravity bong, I'm in NO mood to go kill someone, assault someone, or do anything else that are stereotyped with drugs. I've smoked pot for about the last 2 years. I can honestly say, that when I'm high, it's an absolute state of bliss. No matter how bad of a day I've had, I can roll one up, sit down with my friends, and play some video games...the worries are gone and I'm laughing my ass off.

The stereotypical bullshit about marijuana being a "gateway" drug is strictly propaganda.

The commercials that come on TV, complete bullshit.

Girls getting pregnant because they were stoned? I don't lose touch with reality when I'm stoned, if anything, it makes me think deeper, and judge myself more harshly.

The kid shooting his friend? I'm sure it's happend, but I'm sure it's not related to the pot. What kind of irresponsible parent leaves a loaded gun (with a bullet in the chamber) in an unlocked drawer in his desk?

The guys running over the little girl on the bike? For one, yes, I have done shit like that at the drive thru while stoned, that lame, no? Just things like my friend screaming "BOOYAH" very loudly while I'm trying to order my tacos. :(

It's propaganda and it's bullshit. People fear what they do not understand.

Anyways, back on topic, there's no reason it should be illegal. My main arguement for it...it's 100% natural. You can pick it out of the ground, dry it, and smoke it. Why should the government be able to control something that they really don't have the right to criminalize. The effects of marijuana are controlled by the person being effected. If you wanna smoke, and make yourself act like a complete fucking idiot...so be it. But like I said, none of my friends have ever done anything even related to the bullshit they show on TV.

I smoke it to calm my mind, and my nerves. I'm not sure how that's a crime.

Well, like I said, it effects people differently. I can honestly 100% tell you, that I drive better when I'm high. It makes me WAY more alert, I'm constantly watching what I'm doing. I find myself day dreaming when I drive sober.

Don't get me wrong, I don't go out and do it all the time. (I haven't even smoked in over a month & a half). And I do generally adhere to the principle of not driving whilst messed up, but the few times I did I found myself paying extra attention to what I was doing. That's all I was adding.
