The Graveyard Shift / Saturday Night / Pirate Radio with Dave Callan on Triple J

What's all this crap?

Welcome carnies, motherflippers, and jerkburgers to the (as far as we know) one and only fanpage for "The Graveyard Shift" with Dave Callan, an Australian radio program hosted on the Triple J station on Saturday night / Sunday morning (1am-6am Sydney time). Dave's previous show was entitled "Saturday Nights" / "Pirate Radio", and usually ran on Saturday evenings (6pm-9 or 10pm Sydney time). Note that Dave also appears on the "Robbie, Marieke & the Doctor" breakfast show every Friday, for five minutes, around 8.25am.

Visit the Triple J site for an online stream of the show and podcasts.

Click HERE to visit the official Graveyard Shift page. Contact Dave via the guestbook there. Or call 1300-0555-36 and let him know what's on your mind. Or send an SMS to 1975-7555.

If you or your mum have had any close encounters of the Callan kind, please do e-mail us and let us know.

Podcasts are available from the Triple J website.

We have an archive dating back to 2005, but it's not currently online. Available from the "Files" section of the Yahoo! group are just some of the funniest/most interesting files.

Playlists

Some playlists for the Shift, provided courtesy of Fromtheshadows, Terripsiakisfan, and Mr Krazy_Kalamari.

Up-to-date playlists for Dave Callan and other Triple J shows are available here.

If you want to get a request on the show, there were originally three ways, though now there's five.

For the record, one of the most popular songs seems to be a mashup of the Beatles, Aretha Franklin, George Michael, and the Scissor Sisters (might be entitled "No one takes your freedom"). You can easily find this by doing a Google search.

Also, the Elvis impersonator (who does covers of "Come as you are" by Nirvana, or "Under the bridge" by the Red Hot Chilli Peppers) is a postman from Belfast by the name of "James Brown". He was discovered while singing in a karaoke bar. He performs under the name "The King". His two records are "Gravelands" and "Return to Splendor", and both are available from, for instance, Amazon.com.

Contact Dave?

  • Leave him a message on the guestbook at the official Saturday Night webpage. He probably receives the messages in e-mail format (he always calls the messages "e-mails"), and will probably read them on Friday morning after his Jay and the Doctor stint. He won't necessarily respond (if you've got crap all to say/if you're very rude), and sometimes he'll respond on air.
  • Or give him a call on 1300-0555-36.
  • Or SMS him on 1975-7555 (and he's been known, sometimes, to SMS a reply back!).
  • Wanna send him stuff? Try: "Dave Callan, c/o Triple J, GPO Box 9994, Melbourne".
