How all tunes in the world should sound, don't take my word for it, ask your mum......
Ok this is where we go into one a bit. What is classed as good music? Well its pretty obviously going to be a personal choice but who cares? its my web site and ill cry if i want to. So anyway here goes with a list of bands (in no particular order) that you MUST listen to!
1. DEEP PURPLE

Why? Well there should be a monument in London dedicated to this monster of a rock band. Hard rocking riff and comedy span their 35 years in the business. OK so they havea combined age of 700 but who cares? They beat the pants off crappy boy bands and were the first band who actually did something for me musically.

2. URIAH HEEP

Once quoted unfairly as a poor man's Deep Purple there was always a lot more to this band, especially in the early seventies incarnation. With David Byron you had a vocalist who could be powerful and emotive (Check out one of my fave tracks ever "Come Away Melinda" from their first LP "very 'eavy very 'umble). Continued to this very day in various incarnations, and i was lucky enough to meet them last November when i managed to snank my way into their dressing room - Photos and memorabilia to come!

Reccomended Listening : Salisbury (1970)

3. CAMEL

Now we are in real prog rock territory! From the delightful Guildford, this band showed musical dexterity to the extreme and produced some of the most inventive music of the genre. Long instrumentals and songs which have everything. Their classic "Lady Fantasy" is probably my favourite song of all time, it means a lot. Line up changes and record company pressure curtailed their golden era, but most of the seventies CD's still sound fresh today

4. DEATHSQUAD/MIRMIS

Ok a bit of self indulgence here, my 2 bands. Deathsquad are the arsepit of music and a hairy one too. Out of order, violent, biggited but fortunatly still a bit dangerous. Mirmis are my gigging band just playing tunes which have been inspired by the above bands and others! We rock. Honest guv.
