fi youth camp
480 youth members and supporters of the Fourth International gathered
in
northern Portugal for the 20th annual Fourth International youth camp
on
July 26th to August 1st. The camp was sponsored by the United
Secretariat
of the Fourth International, the revolutionary international
organization
that Socialist Action is a fraternal supporter of.
The camp was a
spirited
week of workshops, forums, and political discussion involving youth
from all
over the world. The camp’s forums and workshops discussed the many
struggles Fourth International sections are part of, including the
anti-war,
anti-globalization, LGBT, women’s liberation, and many other movements
and
campaigns.
Sections of the Fourth International sent delegations from
many
countries from all over Europe, the United States, and Sri Lanka. The
largest delegations were from Italy, France and Portugal. Other large
delegations included Spain, Denmark, England, Germany, and Sweden.
The
hundreds of young revolutionaries who attended the camp were a
testament to
the growth of many of the sections in recent years, who have recruited
many
talented youth cadres who will be the future leaders of the
revolutionary
struggles to come.
