| As high as the heavens are above the earth, so high are my ways and thoughts above yours. -Isaiah 55:9 Have you ever tried explaining something to a two-year-old child? Sometimes small children just don't seem to be able to understand what we tell them, especially our answers to that never-ending question: "Why?" In our "information-rich" world, we have figured out so much. And like a child who can't understand why he or she can't touch the moon or eat candy for every meal, we question God. It is easy to forget that what we know is a tiny drop in the immeasurable ocean of God's knowledge. In the Bible, God tells us that His ways are much higher than our ways and that we can comprehend only a tiny piece of His master plan. God has promised us that His way is the only way and that if we follow Him, everything will ultimately work out for our good. This doesn't mean that everything that happens is good. It just means that even the most horrific, terrible stories can have happy endings when we place our trust in God. Open your heart to see God in his primary role...Master Architect of the universe. Then remember that He has chosen to reach past the sun, the moon, and the stars to take your hand. |
