TEST #4 - LONGEST SPEECH

In the event there is a tie in total scores, then the tie shall be settled by using the timer’s worksheet. The contest shall be awarded to the speaker who comes closest, without going over, the maximum 10 minute time limit. That person shall be declared the winner of the contest.

OFFICIAL TELLERS INFORMATION AND WORKSHEET

Two persons at each competition shall be designated TELLERS. The tellers may be Lions, Lioness or Leos.

The responsibilities of the tellers shall be:

·  To collect the work sheets from the judges, timer, and script reader

·  To tally the judges scores after deducting any penalties for time infractions and missed sentences.

·  To designate the places earned by each speaker based on the revised scores and list on the teller’s worksheet.

·  To declare the winner of the competition.

If there are any errors in the judges tally of the individual scores, refer the error immediately to the person-in-charge who will ask the judge to correct their tally. Do not proceed until the error has been corrected. Do not correct the error yourself.

The speaker with the most first place finishes shall be declared the winner.

If there is not any speaker with more first place finishes than the others, then any speaker who does not have a first place finish shall be eliminated and the places of the remaining speakers shall be tallied, i.e. first place - 1 point, second place - 2 points, etc. The speaker with the lowest score shall be declared the winner.

If the lowest score of the places earned does not identify a winner, then the revised judges scores of each contestant that received a first place shall be added together. The speaker who received the highest score shall be declared the winner.

If there is a tie with the highest score, the tie shall be settled by using the timer’s worksheet and the winner shall be declared who came closest to, without going over, the ten minute maximum.

Please contact the person-in-charge If you have any question or concerns.
