BIBLE SCHOOL OUTDOOR SCENE>
The little wood house conversation.

(The little kids are running around the play ground of the church. The ground is mulch and there are large maple trees growing out of the play ground. There are a few children playing in what is left of a sandbox. All the mulch has intermingled with the sand so now there is a sad sand-mulch that fills the sandbox. There are some decrepit swingy things that the kids once sat on and swayed but now they just dive into the ground and stay. There is a massive metal slide glinting in the sun and there is a mock choo choo train made out of wood. Sophie and Gideon are sitting inside a mock house with a single kid sulking on the roof. Gideon is sitting on a bench with his shoulders up and his hands folded and Sophie is sitting next to him with her legs crossed and she's leaning forward. Gideon eyebrows are furrowed and he's leaning back with his eyes focused on something through the rungs of the wooden mock house.)

Gideon: something weird happened today on the way here.
Sophie: eh?
Gideon: I was walking up the road and I saw this worm…
Sophie: really…
Gideon: …and even though I hate worms, no eyes and all that shit, I picked it up with a stick and tossed it back in the grass.
Sophie: nice.
Gideon: thanks. Well, anyway, that's not the point. I walked up a little farther and I saw worm after worm all dead and shriveled.
Sophie: lovely.
Gideon: ………well don't you find that the least bit…odd?
Sophie: they do that when it rains.
Gideon: but when's the last time it rained?
Sophie: …I don't know
Gideon: exactly.
