Bay State ownership is hoping to lock up Johnny Damon sometime in the next couple days. Along with bringing a clubhouse personality to a young team, expect 20 homers and a .300 batting average from our newly appointed captain and one of PEOPLE's 50 sexiset men alive.
The New England faithful have much to look forward to after a painful rebuilding year.
From Kevin Millar to Albert Pujols?! The Skulls needed a first baseman, and in a blockbuster deal they got the best.Pujols, along with Marcus Giles, Michael Young, and Aramis Ramirez, will make up what should be the best young infield in the league.
Mark Prior will take over Tim Hudson's role as anchor of a solid young rotation. Although injured much of last year, there is little doubt he will bounce back to form as one of the best pitchers in the league.
RECENT TEAM NIEWS
-In a recent official power-ranking, Bay State was ranked as the number 2 team in the league. Captains Lopez, Prior, and Damon, while excited, emphasized that the team still has a ways to go.
-In two bang-bang trades, the Skulls have traded away relievers Ryan Dempster and Brandon Donnelly in return for prospect Erick Aybar. Management had this to say: " Although both guys were expected to be key factors in the bullpen this year, the acqusition of Linebrink and Crain made them all but obsolete. Erick Aybar is a great prospect, and in addition to restocking our farm, we can see him putting up .300 average with 15 homers and 40 steals as early as 2006."
-The Skulls have signed Scott Linebrink and Randy Winn. Linebrink was one of the top middle relievers in the game last year, and will be a huge addition to the pen. Winn is expected to compete with Shannon Stewart and Termel Sledge for the final outfield spot.
-The Skulls have drafted Jesse Crain with their only pick of the 2005 minor league draft. See sidebar for more details...
Down on the Farm
Bay State's top 6 prospects at a glance:

1. Vic Martinez. Already arrived, should be one of the top catchers of the next decade.
2. Chad Cordero. Will soon develop into a dominant closer.
3. Jesse Crain. Lights out middle reliever who is already ready for the big show. Will be a key factor out of the pen.
4. Erick Aybar. Like Crain, a recent addition. A couple years off, but has big time potential. Looks to be a .300, 15 HR, 40 SB kind of guy.
5. Jerome Williams. A solid debut, but struggled with injuries last year. Looking to bounce back after what was hoepfully a sophomore slump.
6. Termel Sledge. Hit 15 homers in only 133 games his rookie year.
The Skulls ownership, always up for a fight. Especially when it comes to those damn dirty Brits over in London!
