Right... where should I begin? It seems that band competitions held locally are just becoming more and more shambolic. Yesterday's contest in Ammanford was the straw that broke the sheep's back. Five bands entered in our section - but this was still t
o many for the officials to cope with. It was announced, "In third place... the band that played number 3 - Severn Tunnel". OOPS!..... Briton Ferry were actually the third band to play! Exit the announcer, stage right, while further deliberation goes o
by the officials.
There is no sensible reason for the results not to be announced as soon as the adjudicator leaves the tent - a twenty minute conference between officials back stage to "finalise" the positions of the bands is just ridiculous. To add
insult to injury, the adjudication once again bears no resemblance to the performance the band gave.
It's about time the powers that be realise that bands put a lot of time, effort and expense into these competitions and for them to have to endure one
farce after another is wholly unacceptable. It's hardly surprising that fewer and fewer bands are bothering to enter.

We have just watched a tape of the eisteddfod competition and you must be all gutted about the result. After we had listened to the bands we were told the result and I was just speechless which is a very unusual state for me to be in!
When the first band played there was a caption on the bottom of the screen and it said Ystradgynlais band although you played second. This first band sounded horrible and you should have won the prize that they had. And the band that played after you well
lets just say that I had an almost uncontrollable urge to throw something at the telly when they were playing. YUCK. I hope that the judge that you had is never on a jury when I'm called to give evidence.
Although our thoughts arent going to make any difference to anyone I thought we would just let you know them anyway. Good luck for the future.
PS. We noticed that a lot of players in the bands had ginger hair. Is this just a coincidence or are they generally more musically talented than the rest of us?

This is a confession to the unlucky person who wrote to Sergant Sheep. ' I am the band member who keeps on playing the wrong notes, and playing at the wrong tempo - SORRY!!!!'
I'd also like to point out that I'm very dissapointed, because of my position in the pool table.And I'm hoping to make amends by whipping Catryn's a#*s Wednesday night in the Sced.
I'd also like to point out that I had no part to play in a certain horn members alcoholic obsessions!!! ( hint...hint...)

European countries. Now don't get me wrong, I enjoy the challenge of the odd solo now and again- But things are getting out of hand!!!
