| Ystradgynlais Training Band |
| Welcome to the site for the training section of Ystradgynlais Public Band! The Training Band was reformed by Catryn Lawrence in September 2007, when we visited eight local primary schools with a brass demonstration. The first year has been productive, with the children learning how to play their instruments and how to play as a group and parents have also started to learn alongside their children. We took part in three concerts in 2008 - a Christmas concert at the Ynyscedwyn Arms (only a couple of months after the Band was formed), our Annual Concert at the Church Hall in Ystradgynlais and an end of term concert at Sardis Chapel. At the end of term concert, we awarded our annual prizes and were presented with a £1000 award from O2's "It's Your Community" fund. You can click on the photograph below for more details on this concert. The Training Band now meets every Wednesday at Sardis Chapel in Ystradgynlais from 5:30 to 7pm.
