THE ART OF YUANMING HE'S WORLD

Born and raised in the SiChuan province of China, an area most known for wonderful and spicy cuisine, He YuanMing began to cultivate his own spice of life. Nicknamed "The Cowboy" for his free spirit and ease with which he mingled among the horses, bulls, and nature, it wasn't until the 1980's that YuanMing received his first Distinguished Artist award. Many of his paintings have been published by the SiChuan Art Publishing House and have been selected for international exhibitions in Hong Kong, Africa, Europe, and the U.S. Already listed in the Who's Who in Chinese Contemporary Art (the definitive dictionary of Chinese Artists), YuanMing now resides in California, US where he continues to bring works of art and wonder to collectors.

In the 1990's his work moved toward a complex and time consuming finger painting method, often buffered by a whimsical multi-colored ink splashing technique. During this time, his work was shown in numerous galleries in China culminating with an invitation for a solo showing in Singapore. In 1995, he published his first feature book entitled The Collected Works of He YuanMing.

After publishing his Golden Bull Series, YuanMing immigrated to the U.S. in 1996 where he was honored by a San Francisco Bay Area exhibition. Only 1 year after his arrival in the U.S., he was named the Outstanding Artist by the city of Cupertino, California, clearly American enthusiasts had discovered YuanMing's work. In 1999 he was asked to hold an exhibition at Mountain View City Hall, and subsequently published A Chinese Artist in America documenting his latest work since moving away from his homeland.

YuanMing began expanding his style into abstract work in 2000 and presented the He YuanMing New Millennium Exhibition in San Francisco. Discovering the joys of giving back to the community and sharing his precious gift with a new generation, YuanMing introduced the first and second "International Art Competition for Children" and compiled a publication Collection of Selected Children's Art. During 2003 and 2004, YuanMing held 5 exhibitions in North America and publish his 3rd collection of works: The Art World of He YuanMing.

Clinging to his ideals and representing the tradition and respect of Chinese art, YuanMing pulls on only the joyous and bitter experiences that makes up his 40 years as an artist. YuanMing has been honored by television, newspapers, and magazine articles; however collectors in America have only just begun to appreciate his work. He YuanMing continues to challenge himself to seek new heights of creativity, merely expressed through his hand onto paper, to be collected and cherished for generations.
