Aight, maybe this won’t be that long of a series, but still…
Chapter 6
Fortunately, after that exchange, Yue made no further advances, and Cerberus no more coarse remarks, and after the meal had completed, Yue dismissed Syaoran and told him to stay out of the way unless he summoned him.
He chose to stay in the suite Cerberus had graciously given Yue, and found a quiet corner to read in.
Are you all right?
“Shouldn’t you be more concerned about Yue-sama? He is the guardian after all, not I.”
Return laughed in her musical voice. We know that, Syaoran. But we’re also your friends. Please do not forget that.
They were his friends, … friends? How odd. He wasn’t supposed to have feelings, because that made him the perfect weapon, but somehow, the training seemed to be undone. He truly enjoyed the cards company. But they were not his targets luckily…
Well, no matter…
He didn’t see Yue once in the next three weeks – Yue was apparently discussing something important with Cerberus, hence the extended stay, and since he had not been summoned once, he decided not to dwell over it.
Still, it was nearing a month… his time with the moon guardian, and he had still not won his way in yet. He was not close….
What to do?
“Syaoran.”
He put his book down and snapped to attention as Yue entered. “Yes, Yue-sama?” He was wholly unprepared when the moon guardian whispered a spell and he wound up bound to the bed in the second room – Yue-sama’s room, wrists and ankles firmly secured with darkness…
Shadow, Dash whispered. I think we’d better not interrupt this.
He was recovering from his shock when he found that his clothes had pretty much vanished at the same time, and he blushed. Was… oh lord, what was going on?
“You’re the only one who can make me forget,” Yue murmured, as he discarded his robes. “Don’t fight me, Syaoran, my little wolf…”
He wasn’t quite sure what was going on – he really wasn’t, he had no idea what Cerberus and Yue had been doing, but he didn’t care either way, much…
He shivered as cool lips pressed over his own. It ought to feel like rape, really, but it didn’t, and with shock, he realized that some part of him really didn’t care…
Why? Was it because his body was just a weapon in its own way? Or had he, horror of horrors, actually come to care for Yue?
Impossible, wasn’t it?
He was forcibly thrown out of his musings when Yue’s mouth closed over another area of his anatomy. Oh gods…. He wasn’t… he couldn’t…!
“Beautiful, moon-child… you’re a child of the moon as I am, and now, I need you…” Yue whispered. No elaboration. It was the truth. Here in the desert, he couldn’t draw from the earth, because it was not his element, not the water and ice and air of the high mountains…
Also, it was the new moon tonight… and he had no desire to be weak, no desire to lose control, no desire to tear himself from his mourning…. But Syaoran helped him forget, and Syaoran had moon energy, so he was an acceptable candidate for this act.
It was only upon later realization, after the boy slept in his arms that he realized that he had been a virgin, and so shy too… almost… almost like a younger version of himself. Quite intriguing…
He knew there was something that had drawn the boy to him, kept him as… almost a pet, he now realized. Yes, really, and since Syaoran had willingly entered his service, this meant nothing.
He let his eyes rest as he fell into dreamland, glad that the boy’s presence helped him forget…
Syaoran awoke the next morning and found Yue already gone, but it was rather late – a quick check against Time revealed that it was already late afternoon.
“Why did I sleep that long?” He colored as he thought back to the events of the previous night. He wasn’t in that bad of a physical shape, was he? Why had he slept for so long? And even now, faint lethargy still tugged at his eyelids…
Didn’t you know? Yue-sama did more than touch you, as he fed off you…
“Wait, what?”
The moon
cannot create its own light, it merely reflects the light of the sun, and so
too is Yue-sama’s magic…
“So he used me as an energy source?” Syaoran asked in shock.
Well, I wouldn’t quite put it that way, but close enough…
Ruby Moon would not be happy with this, but how would she know?
“I…”
He asked Erase to erase your memory, but I feel that you would prefer to keep them, isn’t that so? Return stated.
Syaoran nodded. He didn’t know why, but he wasn’t quite eager to forget yet…
We read you correctly then. Our hope shall not be in vain.
“What?” He was slightly confused…
In time
you will understand, child. Time laughed, his deep voice soothing. Now
then, I feel we shall return home quite soon.
“Time? Would it be indiscreet to ask what they have been doing?”
Not at
all, no... The card smiled. Talking of old times when Clow was alive,
mostly… although several of Cerberus-sama’s harem girls attempted to seduce
Yue-sama. He does have desires, as all do…
“Um… is that why he…?”
Partially, yes…partially because he needed your magic. Who can explain Yue-sama? It would be akin to begging the moon for milk to try.
Syaoran blinked, but decided not to press.
He likes your company, you know.
“I bet…”
Well, Yue-sama will never admit it in a thousand years, but what of that? Dash shrugged.
Freeze was fast asleep, and thus did not add to the conversation.
“Honestly, Yue. That was cruel of you.”
”You sleep with a thousand girls, Cerberus. Why do you begrudge me what is not even yours?” Yue frowned.
“Yes, but I love them!”
Yue laughed coldly. “Do you? I suppose you confuse lust with love. I know for a fact that I feel no love for him. He is simply quite useful to have around.”
“So he works for you without pay and you take advantage of that.”
“Yes…”
Cerberus shook his head. “I won’t pretend to understand you, but for his sake, I hope you change.”
Yue did not dignify with a reply for several long moments. Finally, he made an answer. “I am returning home. This place suits me ill.”
“Hmph, at least you came. Do come visit again.”
“Don’t count on it.” The moon guardian said darkly, as he left his brother. Cerberus sighed.
Clow help him, he needs it more than I…
“We’re leaving.”
Syaoran nodded as he hastily gathered up the few items that needed to be re-packed, and then Yue flew them home again.
Home…
How odd. Did he think of the ice castle as home? He’d only been there for a week, but it felt… homely. Odd.
