What better news to wake up to on a Monday morning than your single debuting at No. 3 on the national ARIA charts. That's exactly what happened to Delta Goodrem with her current hit, 'Born To Try'.
'It was six in the morning when we got the call because the charts come in early on Monday morning,' says Delta excitedly. 'I actually had kind of an idea the night before when I got a call from my record company saying that there was chance that it was going to come in at #3. It actually came in at #1 in Victoria which was fantastic so I'm a Melbourne based girl at the moment.
'I didn't know what to expect actually. I wasn't quite sure; we just had our fingers crossed. I had a friend sleep over on Sunday night, my best friend Lolita, because I wanted her to be there when I heard. We were either going to celebrate or commiserate together, but we were lucky. It's just the beginning, I just want it to start building form here hopefully.'
In between her Neighbours schedule and promotional commitments, Delta will be in the studio laying down the final tracks for her forthcoming album, which is due for release early next year.
