18th, Sep these weeks i went out from lithuania for a short trip to Austria, Czech and Germany. first week to Linz, a small city in Austria, we (A+J, stomach and a friend from Klaipeda) wanna join a festival named 'ARS Electronica', which is a 5 days event with many many exhibitions, concerts and events all around Linz, all about electronics, media, music, and all about design as well. the festival is a new thing to me, altough i am not really interested in technology, i was really amazed. i joined some concerts with very interesting 'sounds' and performance, and i saw a lots of innovative design exhibitions as well. it is silly for me to express my feeling about this event here, as i am not good in technology things, anyway i enjoyed this festival and have had good times having picnic near the Donau River** after Linz i visited Prague, or Praha of Czech Republic. Prague is a very ncie city, many amazing old buildings and bridges and churches. however it is too crowded and a bit hot to visit there in summer. i would like to visit there again with my future wife, in winter times, or in Christmas? 4 days in Prague and now i am in Berlin, Germany. Berlin is a really big and nice city, with a lot of history as well. in the first few days i visited mainly the touristic points, with first 2 days with damon (in fact we travelled Prague together). because he has only 2 days there so we're a bit rush and tired. we have had good times in the fleas......yeah after he left Berlin i decided to travel slowly, so i didn't do a lot of things this week, visited several museums and walked in the city center, or some not so center streets. the best thing is to stay in the Mauer Park, laying on the grass, seeing what ppl are doing there: some of them are playing with dogs, playing a guitar, basketball or doing sth nonsense, on Sunday you can see a lot of young ppl drawing new grafitti on the remanining Berlin wall, so yesterday i spent some time to watch their paintings. also i love the jewish museum and the memorial of the jewish in the city center too** luckily i can find a place for some days here with a friend's friend. his name is Stefan and he is a nice guy. i always think that the best way to know or to travel a place is to meet some local ppl. but also to travel in the cheapest way is to stay with locals too, cheers** i will stay 2 more days here then i will go back to Vilnius, tomorrow i will join the concentration camp tour. anyway what is best in Berlin....................................................flea markets!! |
