Setting out to change the world is a pretty difficult task. However, in this world today, there are many serious problems that needs to be solved. Many of the world's problems are caused by the grotesque inequalities that exist between the rich, industrialised world and the poorer, developing nations. If we could just address the severity of these inequalities, then we would go a longway towards solving the problems.

If a person was born in the developed world, there is a good chance that he will look forward to a longer life than his parents. The average human life span has doubled over the past, and in most countries the trend continues in the developed and wealthy world. Science has managed to eradicate previously devastating diseases and deliver us a quality og life that our ancestors would have never dreamed of. However, for those living in central and southern Africa, though, there is little cause for celebration. Life expenctancies there are growing. Infact, due to the ravages of such diseases as HIV/Aids, they are declining rapidly. It is clear that life expectancy poses very diffrent cjallanges to the developed and developing worlds. The developed world should try and help the developing world in someway so that the developing world could live a better life.

For less than 1 per cent of the income of the wealthiest countries each year, the worst effects of poverty could be greatly diminished. People would have enough tp eat, basic services like health and education would be available to all, fewer babies would die, pandemic could be brought under control.

The most important thing that one should bear in mind is that it's not too late to change the way our world works but we need to act soon. Some of the facts need major shifts in thinking. While others require governments to start taking their responsibilities to the international community seriously. Neither of thes things will be easy to acheive but if we don't try, they'll never happen.
