Bayon stands in the
centre of Angkor Thom and was built in the late 12th century by Jayavarman
II.
Bayon's full of faces.
Children like them
are everywhere in the complex. You can either neglect them or run
out of small changes. But they weren't generally persistent in begging
and still gave me good, friendly smiles. If you are visiting there,
you're advised to bring extra sweets to share with them.
Poy was selling postcards
near Phimeanakas. With a good command of English and some knowledge
of other languages, she communicates with foreign tourists like me.
She mentioned her business is not so good and would like to move to a market
complex. But it is not easy for her to find a place in a market because
she doesn't have a good connection. She also expressed her wish to
study more about foreign languages if she has time and money.
Out of the North
Gate of Angkor Thom, Preah Khan is wired up with elderly trees. The
temple still awaits full restration.

On the higest top
of the temple, these kids play and beg. They are hiding themselves
because the tourist police watches over and tries to catch them if they
bother tourists. Their small feet step and run on the edges of the
main tower which arises 65m from the ground. Very dangerous indeed.
