Distinguishing Characteristics:  Err...in his gangster days it used to be his witch-like hair and a knocked out tooth..but now...err...I dunno..nothing distinguishing I guess..? ^_^"
Likes:  Anzai-sensei (don't get it wrong..he looks up to him ^_~), basketball...
Dislikes:  Not being able to play basketball, admitting failure..umm, as a gangster he hated Miyagi but now they get along really well ^_^, being looked down on...
More:  Mitsui was a reknowned middle-school MVP, a 3 point genius who had a beautiful shooting style.  Although wanted by many high schools with much better reputations, he chose Shohoku because of Anzai-sensei - the man who gave him the inspiration to win the game that earned him his MVP award, and also to never give up, no matter what.  Shortly after he joined the high school basketball team, Mitsui injured his leg, his forced abstaining from basketball causing him to injure his confidence as well - consequently causing him to be led astray into the world of gangster-ism.  (can't find a better word..gomen gomen..hehe. ^_^") [sometimes even I question how Mitsui turned into a gangster -- how did he go from someone injured into a juvenile delinquent? I don't get the logic behind his *transformation*  >_< doshite yo? *scratches head in confusion* Definitely gotta get some Mitsui fans to explain that to me....Anyways...] Mitsui hated Miyagi at the beginning, not because he just wanted to beat him up because of his cockiness, but because Miyagi was playing basketball, doing something that he couldn't -- this led to a big fight involving the whole basketball team, ending with the appearance of Anzai-sensei and Mitsui kneeling on the ground, admitting that he wanted to play basketball again.  Mitsui promised never to fight again, and he kept this promise with undying dedication and loyalty, taking up basketball again with a 'never say die' attitude.  One word to describe Mitsui would definitely be 'strong'.  Mitsui practically remodelled himself completely, from fixing his front teeth and cutting his hair to forgetting his conflicts with Miyagi and developing trust and friendship with people he got off on really bad terms with.  And yet, after all he's been through, the one thought that never falters in his mind is 'I will not give up!', evident in his contribution to the Sannoh match.  Another fighter... ^_^
Personal Opinion:  I really feel it for Mitsui -_-...imagine the guilt he must have inside him for all the time he wasted during his gangster days...he must be reminded of that every time he sees someone better than him...kanashii ne... -_- but I really admire Mitsui's strength - it's amazing how he just fights off everything and downright refuses to give up, totally ignoring how much it must hurt...sugoi yo...  ^_^ And if you ignore everything else and just talk about basketball, I would definitely choose to be like Mitsui..haha..when I play ball he's my inspiration and idol!! ^.^ I would give anything to shoot like he does... so he's definitely my favourite *player* [not character though, I'm sorry to say...^_^"] in SD...! You know, to be fair, he would be considered cute - I know there are lotsa Mitsui fans out there...but I don't know why he's not one of the guys I faint by just looking at..hehe..no idea why...(?)
