7 Nov 2002 (Thurs)
Eating the baguettes and drinking the grape juice reminds me of our Holy Communion that we have during service every first Saturday & Sunday of the month.

From Know What You Believe materials:
Holy Communion is God's way of reminding us of what He has done for us.
(Matthew 26:20-30, Mark 14:12-25, Luke 22:7-20, 1 Corinthians 11:23-32)

It reminds us that Jesus died for our salvation and He is coming back again.
Bread - represents Jesus' body, broken for mankind when He suffered and died on the Cross
Wine/Grapejuice - represents Jesus' blood, shed on the cross as a sacrifice for the sins of mankind

When we take Holy Communion, we are celebrating our relationship with God and our unity in Christ. In the same way, when we ate together, it was a time of fellowship and signified that the carecell is one in Christ.

Jesus Washes His Disciples' Feet (John 13)

Like what Jesus did for His disciples, Lydia washed our feet. It took her a lot of courage to do that for she had to lay down her pride.

Jesus said, "Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another's feet. I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you. I tell you the truth, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them." (John 13:14-17)

Even as Lydia followed Jesus' act and washed her disciples' feet, I know that she has been blessed by the Lord. God has taught her humility & obedience. The cell has been blessed by Lydia too. It was a meaningful & special cell time!
