History of League-of-mails
The class started emailing one another sometime near the preliminary exams to catch up on each other cos we were having our study break then & had not seen each other for days & weeks. That was back in August 1998.
And the emails volume got higher as the 'O' level exams drew near. Exam stress lah! Initially we emailed the whole class, but since not everyone replied, we began to email only those who replied so that the others' mailboxes would not be flooded.
We named ourselves the League-of-mails, after the League of Nations mentioned umpteen times by Mrs Mak in our History class.
Graduation from RGS, our Alma Mater
Even after graduation from RGS, the group continued to email one another to update the rest on our orientation programmes & JC happenings.
The email became a channel for us to keep in touch and to organise class and group gatherings (chalets, dinners etc).
University life
Now that we've all entered university (some in NUS, some in NTU, three of us in SMU & the rest abroad), the tradition carries on.
Thanks to Yilin's efforts, we can now write to the rest at one email address - the yahoogroups.
Cheers to our 5-year old LOM! Thereabout lah..can't remember the exact birthdate, anyone knows? Many more years to come!
