Personal History

Origins: When Olaf’s father Lothor of Highrune clan was just an apprentice priest of Moradin he was assigned to the Dalelands to continue his training. While on his way, Lthor’s caravan was ambushed by bandits. All would have been lost if not for a timely intervention by Morgara, a beautiful dwarf druid, who appeared from the forest just in time to rescue the few remaining survivors. Lothor and Morgara fell in love and soon got married. For several years they’ve lived in the Daleleands in a state of marital bliss. At that time Olaf, their first child, was born. For about five years Morgara stayed in the city with her family, but eventually call of the wilderness proved too great for her. She started disappearing first for days, then months, then years. Morgara would always come back and eventually her and Lothor gad two more children.

During this period Olaf received his formal schooling. Early on Olaf exhibited aptitude for the magic arts and started experiencing his first earth dreams. At school he met Sigurd, who became his best friend. The martial prowess of one and magic abilities of another complimented each other well.

Occupation: At Olaf’s 20th birthday, Morgara once again had appeared in the Dalelands. The boy was given a choice to either follow the bath of a cleric or a druid. Olaf, however, form his dreams already knew that his path lie in the wild. He was ready for his training.

Character: Olaf’s behavior is primarily motivated by his love of nature and the sense of duty to the druidic cult. He will avoid conflict whenever possible, preferring diplomacy to the bloodshed. When forced to fight, however, Olaf fights using all means at his disposal, always giving preference to the “natural weapons” such as claws and fangs of the animals, forces of weather, or plagues and deceases. He views the death as a part of life and thusly dispenses healing and destruction evenly. He is always saddened by the demise of flora and fauna, but considers sacrifices to achieve the natural balance to be a necessity. The path of the druid winds through the mists, as a needle stitching good and evil together.

The party: Although he chose the nature’s path, due to his childhood experiences Olaf is not completely inept in the affairs of men. While he prefers to wonder alone, he does not shy the company of other adventurers he deems worthy or the bustle of the cities. His periodic visits to his father and siblings in the Dalelands give Olaf great joy and a sense of connectedness with his clan and family.

Recently, Olaf began having visions of a horrible demise of his old friend Sigurd as well as other visions of the dark tunnels beneath an unknown city, laughing wolves head and a man in the sphere of white light. Not knowing what to make of those dreams, but worried for his friend, Olaf set out to find him.

Liquid Armor

(XP 1500, GP 7000)

A Liquid Armor consists in dormant form of two plain-looking leather and wooden bracers. When activated by mental command, both the bracers immediately liquefies and run out to cover the whole body of the one wearing them (the wearer must be of size M or smaller), with a form-fitting metallic harness, giving a protection equal to that of a set of plate mail (+ 8 AC).

The Liquid Armor is weightless and is treated as nothing more than a second layer of clothing, hence no dex-penalties is applied and the armor can be worn by rogues and bards without penalties. However, only

those capable of wearing armors can use the bracelets, hence monks and wizards find no help there.

Strong the armor might be, it is highly susaptable to magical rust attacks, like that of a Rust Monster, and one successful attack from such completely destroys the armor. On the other hand, the Armor is imperious to normal rust, aging and wet environments. In order to have any effect both bracers must be worn by the same wearer at the same time.

Castlenum & Stonemason's Travelling Gentleman's Hamper.

The most prestigious, exclusive and needless to say expensive boutique in the world is the famous Castlenum and Stonemason. The store was established 260 years ago and is still run by the same dwarves who set it up; Castlenum Burblethrip Kildunnum Hon Kildunnum Graybolt and Stonemason Hurgum Stonemason Stonemason Stonemason Hurgrum. These two dwarves, epicures and arbiters of taste in cuisine, maintain a store filled with delicacies that can be found nowhere else and their best selling product is the Castlenum and Stonemason's Traveling Gentleman's Hamper; a culinary magic box which no man of noble blood would be caught traveling without.

The hampers come in a variety of sizes and the contents vary according to the requirements and tastes of the purchaser. 25% are compact, containing 5 items. 25% are standard, containing 10 items. 25% are deluxe, containing 15 items. 15% are super-deluxe, containing 20 items. 10% are imperial, containing 25 items. A hamper will sustain an individual in a state of culinary luxury for a number of days equal to the number of items it contains and because of the special preservative processes used by Castlenum & Stonemason, there is no chance of any of the items spoiling.

Typical items included in a hamper are roasted vegetables in a mantrap sauce, tinned gremlin, sugared treant root truffles, roast chicken stuffed with a slightly smaller chicken, kraken eye jelly, three flour bread, pickled elephant, grilled phoenix, snake curry and a variety of other strange but delicious things. In addition to these things a hamper may have even more unusual items, including extra-extra-hot sauce (a whole jar of which will eat a man-sized hole through two inches of iron in about an hour), Castlenum & Stonemason's Seasoning (a shaker contains a ten uses and will make the blandest of food taste fantastic), and the scandalous but popular aphrodisiac oysters (anyone consuming some will regard everyone as if they were 4 charisma points higher – with their racial maximum being the limit – for 6 hours).

The Scimitar of Tree Stride.

The wielder of the scimitar may activate the Tree Stride effect up to two times per day. The effect grants ability to enter trees and move from inside one tree to inside another tree. The first tree you enter and all others you enter and all others you enter must be of the same kind, must be living, and must have girth at least equal you yours. By moving into an oak tree (for example), you instantly know the location of all other oak trees within transport range and may choose whether you want to pass into one or simply step back out of the tree you moved into. You may choose to pass to any tree of the appropriate kind within the transport range as shown bellow.
