The Southwest
After many months my wonderful mother came to visit me for a Christmas and we went out to tour Historic Old Mesilla.  Our picture (right) was taken in front of a building that actually held "Billy The Kid" prisoner.  On the left is my favorite picture so far.  My mom and I on my first bike.  I was rollin' on a Honda CX Custom at the time.  You haven't lived until you've gone cruising with your mom throught the highways of New Mexico!
To the right and below are from a day trip to White Sands, NM.  The four of us decided to spend the day drawing our names in the sand!  Can you se them?  I wanted to leave the big background in all the pictures to show the vastness of the desert.  It's a beautiful, seemingly endless stretch of sand.  And HOT!  The white sand reflects the sun.
This is my second motorcycle, a Honda Shadow that my buddy Selrahc & I are in the process of "Customizing"  Well, actually I'm learning the art from him.  The first thing he taught me to do was punch out the baffles.  It makes the exhaust  LOUDER!!
These 2 underneath are from a trip to Santa Fe, NM.  A place described to me as "Surreal".  I prefer just plain ODD.  My longtime friend Moneka invited me to watch she and a group from her university present at NCORE, The National Conference On Race & Ethnicity.  It was a very powerful conference.  I went away with new views and Ideas about many things.  They did a wonderful Job! All except the last photo are from a midnight trip to the pool and hot tub!!  A good idea until you freeze your butt off walking back in the wee hours of the morning.
Kevis (top left) just loves this picture of himself.  He said it looks like "I've been sunbathing in a world with no ozone at all, while drinking 6 bottles of whiskey mixed with tequila."  He has such a way with words.  Kevis is a published & soon to be  renowned poet.  One of his works is about our trip to NCORE.  It's very nicely put together and you can CLICK HERE to read it.  It is also a link there to a poetry site that caters to amateurs! Kevis can express things with his pen in a way that I envy.
Above is a rare photo of Moneka (the bear) & Sheila (The attacked) developing life saving techniques for those attacked by wild animals.  They are 2 founding members of an organization devoted to saving lives...  "The Bear Attack Society!!"
Above is one of a scant few pictures I have in Mexico. I love Mexico and in the future I'll be adding an entire section,  mainly revolving around food! Mexican food are some of my favourites!
Wherever I go, one of the most important things I do is meet interesting people. Out west is no different, and I had the chance to have a great time with them.  Not cliff jumping like Hawaii, or bullrunning like in Spain but just playing cards and havin' a good time together.  Like the (above, right) picture of my friend Cam and I swordfighting at the Las Cruces Renaissance Faire, or the party picture below it.  Cam has set up a pretty nice webpage for himself at http://www.nmsu.edu/~cmott/!
My buddy Eric is lead guitar of a group called "Money Shot"!  I took these pics at their house/ studio/ entertainment complex.  My next major challenge  is to get a loop of their music on the site.  So you can hear and feel the music as well! In the pic:  Eric  on Lead Guitar, Troy  on Drums, & Matt on Bass Guitar.
These fine folks are some of the wildest and most enjoyable people I've ever had the pleasure of Adventuring with!    They, like myself lead a life of Epicurean expositions and beliefs. Epicurus, father of Epicureanism  lived from 371-270 B.C. I encourage reading his doctrines & philosophies! This picture was taken at a TOGA party that was put together by my online friends!  MY Toga was like generals' regalia!  But unfortunately there was no room for my picture!
I had my first piercing done in Las Cruces, New Mexico.  My tongue!  It started as a 1 inch 12 gauge and I'm down to a 5/8 inch 8 gauge!  I remember the stupefied look I had when Vic was done.  He took this picture (on right) of me and put it in his book of piercing and ink he's done.  I thought it'd be painful.  Or at least I'd feel a pinch.  But I didn't!  It was completely painless......The worst part about it was the slobbering all over myself.  I had to hold my tongue out as he clamped it to push the needle through!  I'm contemplating a tattoo.  One I've known I wanted since I was a kid.  My name!  I want the letters Y-U-S-E-F  and W-A-T-E-E-F on my back.  Both intersecting at the F.  So there's one F for both words.  Get it?!  Either intersecting in a "V" with the Y and W starting at my inner shoulders and connecting at the base of my spine or in a reverse "L" shape, with the F intersection at the bottom left. Any Ideas on how I could do it?
