Botan is the navigator of the River Styx She leads the spirits of dead humans to Enma to be judged before they go on. In western culture, the closest approximation would be the ferryman of the dead or grim reaper in greek mythology. Basically Botan is Death. She isn't the grim kind you always think of, dressed in black and carrying a scythe, typical skeleton. Botan is a cheerful, blue haired spirit girl who rides an oar  and works directly under Koenma.     Botan has a book that she keeps with her, called The Book of Enma. Enma is the lord of the dead and thus this is like a profile of all the people in the world and when they are supposed to die, how, their whole life, etc.     Botan actually becomes an assistant to the Spirit Detective Yusuke Urameshi and is the bearer of Koenma's words. She also brings the boys spirit devices to improve their fighting skills. She sometimes, though, forgets how to use some of them. She is slightly bubble brained but I think she's probably very smart. Just also very enthusiastic.     She doesn't have really any techniques except she can use her powers to heal and that is about it.
