Yusuke attends Sarayashiki Jr. High School although he rarely is seen there,he is also the school's number one punk.Yusuke has a young alcoholic mother named Atsuko who stays at home unless she is at parties.We don't know much about his father until much later in the series. Yusuke spends little time in school and a lot of time fighting. When he dies, he meets Botan and Koenma.Botan explains that Yusuke wasn't supposed to die, and Koenma offers him a chance to come back to life.In order to do this though Yusuke has to go through an ordeal.     When Yusuke finally makes it back to life. (With the help of Botan, Keiko and Kuwabara) He has to make up a debt to Koenma. So he becomes a detective for the Spirit World. We find out that Yusuke has spiritual powers that allow him to shoot spiritual energy out of his body.Some of his      techniques include the Spirit Gun where he concentrates his spirit energy into his right index finger and then imagines pulling a trigger which activates the Spirit Gun.Another technique that Yusuke has is the Shotgun where he gathers energy into his clenched fist and then shouts,"Shotgun!"After he says this a whole bunch of energy blasts fly from his fist and hits his opponent.
