In 1903  uprising against the Ottoman rule for free and independent Macedonia. On the same date in 1944,  the modern Macedonian state was established.

Independence Day
After a referendum, independence from former Yugoslavia was declared.

Uprising Day
In 1941 started the National Liberation War.
