				About Us
	YouthVoice was created for all those kids out there who want to get involved but don't know how, or why. Alot of teens and young adults feel that there's really nothing they can do to make a difference because no one will listen to them, and they're just one person. The majority of the time, the reason they aren't heard and don't make a difference is because they believe this lie. The truth is however, that "one person" can actually be far much more than just one. But to become more, to have our voices heard, and to make a difference - WE MUST ORGANIZE!!!     Why Get Involved? Why not? As teens, we are American citizens too! We have the same freedoms and responsibilities as everyone else. We have the right to free speech, religion, assembly, the press, and petition the government. We have the right to equal protection regardless of gender, race, sexual orientation, or religion. We have the right to privacy, due process, and free expression. But so often, teens rights are stepped on because our rights are not recognized. To learn more about student rights visit the American Civil Liberties Union.       Most teens have jobs, which brings up a big reason for speaking out and getting involved: we are taxpayers! Our money goes to the government just like your paretns. Whether you hold a mall job or work at a fast food restaraunt, if you pay taxes, you have the right to be heard by elected officals and be fairly represented. Even if you are not able to vote, excersizing free speech, assembly and press can have a powerful impact.
		Our Main Goal And Focus 1) To educate, equip, and mobilize teens and young adults toward progressive change. 2) To make our voices heard, because even as youth, we are still American citizens and desicions made today will affect us tomorrow. 3) To support peace, human rights, democracy, independent media, protection of the environment, student rights, and civil disobedience.
